Yesterday,
We touched down on awe,
Wonder,
Through the remembering of it,
Having been a child or enjoying the out of doors.
Recalling is something we humans can do,
Go back in time in our mind and journey to a different time and experience,
But something else we humans can do is lose the sense of that awe.
To accumulate the compilation of life and journeying to such a degree that that wonder and awe no longer holds any value under the weight of commitments and responsibilities.
But it's still there.
I argue that we must fight,
Fight to keep it there.
This is what propels us.
It's much of the ignition that keeps us moving on our journey.
To grab hold of those moments of awe and wonder,
Even as simple as that new bud on the lilac bush each spring,
Just that,
But to take it and hold it more wholly,
More consciously,
So that we experience that hit to our heart,
To our mind and to our gut that is wonder and delight.
As these wizened adults we are,
Losing that sense of wonder and awe can give us an opportunity to remember ourselves back to finding it in our everyday experiences.
This is what makes you awake and creative,
The person you are.
It's a renewal of that wonder that is the renewal of your creativity.
Richard Rohr has said something prescient about this and it's where I'll close today with a quote.
To let each moment teach us,
We must allow ourselves to be at least slightly stunned by it until it draws us inwards and even upward toward a subtle experience of wonder.
We normally just need a single moment of gratuitous awe to get us started.
These moments are the solid foundation for the entire instinct and journey.
Awaken creative today.
