At the full moon,

A good practice is to tip our spout over,

Let flow away,

And release what no longer serves.

Thus way we empty space and energy within us so that at the new moon next,

We are found empty of any doubts,

Insecurities,

Inhibitions,

Judgments that minimize our fullest expression.

Thus this full moon,

Tipping and pouring to empty,

Opens wide the space for a more fulfilling,

Full filling to infuse us.

I'm Patricia Baldwin-Sagerbroek and this is a creative meditation from Before the Brush.

To become this fullest expression of self,

I practice and advocate a creative exercise daily.

Exercise is prescribed through all facets of life as enriching,

Empowering,

Life giving and healthy.

Have you thought of such terms for creative exercise as well?

Let's follow this rhythm,

Long established by nature of rejuvenation and revelation with the new and full moon.

We are after all just a part of this natural world,

Keen to it,

Keenly aware of it,

And blessed by this awareness when we use it to pay attention.

Nature seeks perfection by attention to small things.

Do-Hock.

This creative meditation is not about creating.

It is about what we do to set ourselves firmly on stage to begin the process of being co-creators in this life.

I ask you to begin with me standing.

If this serves you,

Feel your feet firmly planted and use your gift of imagination to envision these feet-like roots,

Your legs like trunks,

Your abdomen like the very heart of a tall sky-reaching tree,

Yet also flexible.

This tree is able to bend and sway as weather and conditions ask.

You feel this too,

With your imagination,

Your own flexibility,

Your firm stance with easy grace of motion as well,

The harmony of this dichotomy.

Sway if you feel it.

Bend if you so choose.

Stretch your arms wide to the side and like the teapot reference,

Tip yourself out.

Imagine the contents of your core,

Your central stories and livings,

Your accumulated days of doing and seeing,

Being and making,

Bubbling up like tea in a pot.

Step further,

These contents rising to the top and let them flow gently from the spout of your arm,

Your hand,

Your fingertips spilling out to the floor,

To the ground beneath you,

Being absorbed by the resilient,

Resplendent earth.

Smile as you watch these contents soak into the ground,

Being reformed,

Renourished by the elements they are now melding with within this earth.

Now tipping back straight once more,

Feel your feet there,

Perhaps newly vital,

Revitalized by these nutrients pouring out and reforming,

Being reimagined and regrouped to become food in this new form for your absorption.

Strong and straight,

Yet flexible and breezy,

You can begin to sense with your imaginations the growth of new ideas,

The spread of this gentle reforming,

The energy as it is renewed and reinvigorated,

Absorbing and filling your pot once more.

The new moon comes.

After the full moon tipping out,

The new moon always comes.

We embrace the flow,

We follow the rhythm,

We learn,

Digest,

Expel and transform,

Just like the earth,

The plants,

The animals,

All of nature,

For which,

Of course,

We are a dear,

Tender part,

For which,

Of course,

You are a dear,

Tender part.

With this rhythm then,

This imagination of harmony and flow,

Of spilling out and refilling,

Take up your space,

Regather your will,

Your passion,

Your direction,

Your desire,

And ask of it all,

To what do I today put my hand?

Now go,

Create.
