Metta is an invitation to go beyond the surface of personal interactions to the depth of foundational human needs that impact how we relate to others and ourselves. This practice begins with breath awareness, followed by guided visualization and repeating positive intentions to cultivate compassion for a range of individuals until concluding with the self. Through my own experience this practice facilitates greater connection to others, offers a fresh perspective to conflict, and increases self-awareness and self-compassion.
