St. Thérèse of Lisieux’s “Little Way,” developed in the late 19th century, is a spiritual path focused on doing small, everyday actions with great love—helping others, being kind, smiling, not complaining, and so on. We should do these things not because we feel unworthy or think we are not allowed to complain, but because we do not want to pour negativity onto other people or expect them to always carry our burdens. She also emphasized embracing one’s own weakness. When we understand that we are loved despite all our faults, it becomes easier to bring the worst parts of ourselves to the Creator. Then our soul can come in and transform these weaknesses into our greatest gifts. Remembering that we are beloved children of the Creator will then become our new way of living.
