This second Spirit Step One guided meditation is designed to help you learn and practice meditation techniques that will assist you to begin overcoming the roots of unmanageability,

This second version will offer more silence and less coaching and allow you to pay more attention to the affirmations and visualizations in the meditation on your own.
Let's sit comfortably in a relaxed position with your back relatively straight.
Close your eyes gently.
As we move through this guided meditation,
Feel free to calmly adjust your position if you become uncomfortable.
If you get an itch and need to scratch it to relieve the distraction,
You may do so and then continue with the meditation.
Let's begin by listening to your breath.
You may wish to take a little deeper breath than normal.
Focus on your breath.
Feel your body moving in rhythm up and down.
With each exhale,
You feel more relaxed,
Sending out some of the tension that you hold within your body.
Next,
Let's imagine and visualize that the air that you are breathing is like a clean,
White,
Healthy cloud of light.
Imagine inhaling this healing air as it spreads throughout your body to heal and release all of the disease,
The negativity,
And the past that you hold onto throughout your body.
As you exhale,
Imagine that you are sending out everything you do not want as a dark,
Dusty cloud.
Breathe in the clean,
White,
Healing air.
Exhale,
Sending out the dark cloud of negative emotions and past actions stored within.
And exhale,
Sending out the dark cloud of negative emotions and past actions stored within.
Let's begin with our first affirmation.
As you inhale,
Think to yourself,
I relax.

As you think each word,
Focus on the feeling and the meaning of the word and try to experience these feelings.

As your mind wanders and thoughts cry for attention,
Silently acknowledge them,
Observe them as if they are like a leaf floating in the wind or floating down a stream.
Bring your attention back to the affirmation and refocus on your breath.

Continue repeating this affirmation and visualize that you are lying in the palm of a giant hand.
This is the palm of your higher power.
It is soft,
Warm,
Comfortable,
And safe.
As you repeat the affirmation over and over,
Resting in this giant hand,
Imagine how it feels.

You rest a little more comfortably and feel safer within the security of this hand.

Picture yourself within the hand,
Surrounded by a cloud of white light.
This is a cloud of love and healing,
And it moves in and through you,
Covers you like a warm blanket on a cold night.

What does this feel like to be love in action?
Try to imagine what that feels like.

Picture someone in your life,
A family member,
Friend,
Co-worker,
And just visualize them and surround them with the healing cloud of loving energy as you repeat this affirmation.

Practice the feeling of actually sending that energy of love towards them and know that you can actually touch them in this way.

This is how you can be of service and connect to others through meditation.
Now,
Let's practice spending a few minutes just silent,
Resting in the presence of our higher power.
Turn your thoughts and your life over.
Just let them go.
Listen to your breath.
Now,
Let's end the meditation.
Slowly bring your focus back to the room.
Become aware of the chair that you are sitting in.
Become aware of your body again.
Take your time.
When you are ready,
You may open your eyes.
Just sit quietly for a few minutes and absorb the meditation.
As soon as we admitted the possible existence of a creative intelligence,
A spirit of the universe underlying the totality of things,
We began to be possessed of a new sense of power and direction,
Provided we took other simple steps.
We found that God does not make too hard terms with those who seek him.
To us,
The realm of the spirit is broad and roomy,
All-inclusive,
Never exclusive or forbidding to those who earnestly seek.
