In this guided meditation for sleep, we will begin with a short breathing exercise to practice gratitude and release any excess energy, followed by a body scan and the repetition of a simple mantra to help with grouding and relaxation before bed. Music by Silencio Music

Welcome to your full moon meditation for sleep.

This meditation may be practiced on or around the full moon or any time you wish to release excess energy that you may be holding onto.

The energy associated with the full moon can allow for feelings of flow,

Potential,

Abundance and illumination.

It can be a perfect time to manifest that which we wish to create in our lives.

This energy can also feel overwhelming at times,

Affecting each of us differently,

But possibly causing us to feel anxious or tired or burnt out.

By consciously choosing how we allow the full moon's energy to affect us,

We can feel more at peace,

More grounded in this creative flow,

And this can allow us to sleep and rest more peacefully at night.

We will begin by practicing a simple breathing technique.

Please begin by lying on your back or in another position that is most comfortable for you.

It can be nice to have a window open to allow the moonlight to wash over you,

Or even to lie outside under the full moon if that's possible for you right now.

Close your eyes and as you take a deep breath in,

Consider something that you're grateful for.

Hold your breath at the top of the inhale,

Allowing your body and mind to become infused with this feeling of gratitude.

And then slowly,

Gently release the breath,

Exhaling fully.

Continue this exercise for a few more rounds of breath at your own pace,

Considering what it is that you're grateful for in your life right now.

With each inhale,

Feel gratitude,

And with each exhale,

Release it back into the world.

Breathing Breathe in.

Breathe out.

And now I'd like you to ask yourself what you need to release.

And as you continue to breathe deeply with gratitude,

Allow yourself to let go.

Consciously and wholeheartedly release with each exhale.

I release.

I release.

I release what isn't mine to hold onto.

I release what is no longer serving a purpose in my life.

To finish this grounding meditation for sleep,

We'll choose an affirmation beginning with I AM.

Choose how you would like to feel and how you would like to harness the powerful external energy around you.

To bring it into your heart and your being.

You may transform this energy however you wish.

Begin silently reciting the phrase I AM and finish it however feels right for you.

Place your hands on your heart now as you feel this intention.

As you continue to recite your intention,

Imagine your heart as a flame.

Filling you with a warm golden calming light.

Allow the warmth of this light to spread throughout your body,

Infusing you with the light of the full moon.

Calming,

Peaceful,

Warming energy.

Feel it spread outwards into your chest,

Your back,

And your shoulders.

And down through your arms until it reaches each individual fingertip.

Feel the warmth in your face and the top of your head.

Now this gentle healing light spreads down through your hips and into each leg.

Feel your left leg relax.

Feel your right leg relax.

Allow both of your feet to feel as heavy as two rocks.

Feel the rest of your body sinking deeper and deeper.

And now begin to let the end of your sentence fall away so that you are simply left with the phrase I AM.

I AM.

I AM.

When you feel ready,

You may gently open your eyes,

Allowing your gaze to rest softly in front of you.

Or if you are ready for sleep,

You may simply allow your eyes to remain closed as you drift off into a pleasant,

Restful state.

And grounded before bed.
