A guided practice for the new moon in Aries.

Welcome dear friends,

This is Sarah and I am so happy to be here and to have you with me again.

This might be coming to you a little late for the new moon in Aries which is on the 24th of March in 2020.

I'm sorry if it's a couple of days late but I hope that it is still helpful.

When we are in the new moon phase we have a good few days either side of it to sit and think about our intentions.

So even if you're a couple of days past it is still a good time to sit down and do this work.

I want to start by saying that I know that it's a very fearful,

Worrying and anxious time in the world at the moment.

But I also want to say that we are beginning a new astrological year with Aries and despite everything that is going on in the world at the moment we still have this opportunity to make plans and create a new beginning for ourselves.

As always this is an interactive practice so if you haven't already it's a good time now to pause and to go and grab a pen and paper and find yourself a space to sit down in where you won't be disturbed,

That you can be quiet and you can be comfortable.

I understand that things are hectic at the moment and that we might be feeling overwhelmed by worry,

By fear and by anxiety.

So I would like for us to take a few moments at the beginning of this practice to see if we can just sit and bring ourselves to the present moment and to our centre.

One of the most difficult things to do is to slow down,

Pause and understand where it is that we actually are.

Sometimes your whole body and your mind can be screaming for movement.

So let's sit together now in whatever position you have chosen and let's see if we can intentionally bring ourselves just to this present moment.

You might like to do that by closing your eyes and you might want to see if just bringing your attention into your breath can help.

You can place a hand on your belly and feel it rise and fall or you can place your left hand over your heart and put your right hand on top.

But for the moment,

For right now,

Let's just breathe together.

The new moon on the 24th is in Aries,

It's the first sign of the zodiac and we are just past the spring equinox.

It is the beginning of a brand new astrological year.

Outside the earth is beginning to wake up.

It's beginning to grow,

We're going to start to see blossom in the next few weeks.

The weather is changing,

The nights are lighter and there is that sense of the earth waking up.

But at the moment it doesn't feel like that for us because many of us are at home right now.

With this new moon in Aries we do have an opportunity to participate in that awakening.

It's just in a different way than we expected.

If you joined me for last month's new moon and for the full moon in Virgo,

You'll know that at the Pisces new moon we purposely did not set any clear intentions.

We had Mercury retrograde in Pisces at the time and it felt like things were not clear enough for us to make committed action steps.

So instead we created intentions based around ways we wanted to feel.

So that when we begin again with this Aries new moon we would know the action steps that we need to take.

And now that we have Mercury direct again,

It's back in Pisces,

I think we can all agree that things look very different to the way they did at the last new moon and we can understand why things were not clear.

Usually we define ourselves and who we are by the activities that we take part in,

The roles that we have created for ourselves,

The job that we do.

All of these form what we see as who we are and what our contribution to society is.

And at the moment when many of us are at home,

We don't have all of these things.

We don't have the job that we go to every day.

We might not be able to participate in the activities that we normally do.

The role that we have created for ourselves in society might not be there.

And that can leave us feeling really adrift and it can leave us feeling really,

Really lost.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it is always associated with authenticity and the ability to step out and show up as our whole,

Full,

Authentic self without fear.

Aries is headstrong energy.

The ram puts its head down and it moves forward.

We have an opportunity to consider here who our whole self is and who we are when all of the things,

All of the structures that we have created around ourselves that build up who we think we are,

Are no longer there.

A lot of the energy of 2020 is this build up of Capricorn energy and a lot of that is connected to structures which are no longer working for us personally and us as a society and a collective across the world.

And these structures that are no longer working for us and need to be torn down in order to be rebuilt in a new way,

To be of benefit to everyone.

So with this Aries New Moon,

Let's consider the themes around who we are.

Our first question to consider is a big one.

I'd like us to take some time to sit now and either just contemplate or write down without all these roles that we have in day to day life,

The job,

The activities,

The structures that we have created for ourselves.

When we are in this place now where we are forced to sit still and not have all of those,

Who are you?

Do all of those things align with your values and who you want to be?

So I'll keep an eye on the time for you and come back to you in two minutes.

Sorry.

You have one minute left.

Okay.

That's a big question to ask ourselves.

And for many of us,

I think that we have an opportunity to understand that some of the roles and the structures that we have created for ourselves no longer align with our values and who we want to be.

So let's consider going forward.

And let's use the energy of this fiery,

Authentic Aries Newman to consider who it is that we do want to be.

While we are forced to sit still,

However uncomfortable that might feel,

We too have an opportunity to wake up and to change.

So for the next two minutes,

Let's consider who you want to be.

Okay.

There's one minute left.

Okay.

Okay.

Sometimes when we set intentions,

We don't need to be so specific.

And we don't need to write out specific action steps that we will take.

We are about creating a feeling and understanding how we want to feel deep down and what our contribution is.

So rather than writing action step intentions,

Use the most powerful affirmation that we have,

Which is I am.

Anything that we speak after those words,

I am,

Comes into existence,

Whether we know it or not.

So consider who it is that you want to be going forward.

Consider what your contribution is.

Consider what roles and structures you wish to have around you and the ones that no longer serve.

Consider who your whole authentic self really is.

And write those into I am intentions.

As always,

You can finish with a thank you.

And we always thank for our intentions manifesting not only for our highest good,

But for the highest good of everyone.

And I think that at the moment is most important for us to send our intentions out for the highest good of all.

It's uncomfortable to be in this forced pause,

But it is a massive opportunity to change.

And if we can come out of this forced pause truly sure about who our authentic selves are and what our contribution is.

We have a wonderful foundation to make change in this brand new astrological year.

Thank you so much for being with me.

I really look forward to talking to you for the full moon.

Sending loads of love.

Stay home.

Stay safe.

Stay well.
