Fellow travelers.
Welcome to this affirmation audio journey.
This is for people who struggle with meditation but are longing for some kind of spiritual practice.
This is for people who long to grow and long to heal.
There is no wrong or right here.
You don't have to sit cross-legged.
You don't have to completely clear your mind of thoughts.
You could be home alone,
Sitting on a train,
Or walking your dog in the forest.
As long as you have headphones on or just some peace and quiet to hear my words,
Then this affirmation audio journey will help you to grow and to heal.
You just have to come with an open mind and an open heart and the willingness to heal yourself.
Today's affirmation audio journey is about letting go of control.
What would happen if you let go of control?
Not forever,
But just for now,
During this 15-minute or so meditation with me.
Are you willing to explore what it would feel like to let go of control completely?
We avoid surrendering our control in the fear that everything might fall apart.
But what if that fear wasn't true?
What if the beliefs you've had your whole life around control were never true?
What if you only started to control yourself and the world around you because when you were young,
You had no control over anything and that felt unsafe?
And so,
In order to feel safe,
You started grabbing on to toxic belief systems and you wouldn't let go.
And that's not your fault.
You were doing that because you were trying to survive.
You were trying to stay safe.
But you don't need to do that anymore in order to survive and stay safe.
You are living your life and your life will not fall apart if you stop trying to control it all the time.
In fact,
What you don't realize is that by trying to control everything yourself,
You're not allowing your higher power to transform your life for the better.
You don't know what's right for you.
You think you know.
But do you really believe you know a better life and path for you than your higher power does?
If you let go,
If you make some space for the universe,
Then the universe will bring you all manner of wonders,
Learnings and transformation.
And not all of them will be comfortable or joyous.
Handing over your control to the universe doesn't guarantee you a happily ever after because there is no such thing as a happily ever after.
We need the pain and we need the joy.
We need the letting go in order to bring about renewal.
So yes,
If you let go of control,
The pain will still come.
Only this time,
You'll know the pain is bringing you something worth learning.
Some nugget of wisdom to help and heal you because it was brought to you by the universe and not brought upon by yourself.
Letting go of control is trusting that your higher power,
The divine God,
The universe,
Whatever it is that you believe in,
Has your back and it will not let you down,
No matter what.
Letting go of control is trusting your higher power.
Letting go of control is trusting the universe.
Letting go of control is trusting your heart instead of locking yourself up in your head.
Letting go of control is the secret path of setting yourself free.
And if you've been controlling your life and the world around you,
Then you will not find the process of letting go easy.
It isn't easy,
But it is possible.
All you must do is have the openness and willingness to try and believe that you can surrender all control and trust the process of life.
So let's start trusting life on life's terms right now,
Right here,
Right now.
Let us start with our families.
Whether those family members are beloved or big pains in the ass,
I want you to picture your family in your mind's eye.
The children you adore,
The parents you detest,
The siblings that drive you mad,
The pet that can do no wrong.
See them all in your mind's eye now.
In a moment,
I invite you to take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold at the top.
And as you breathe out,
I want you to breathe out all of the control you have around your family.
As you sigh deeply out of your mouth,
I want you to release all controlling thoughts,
Feelings,
And behaviors towards your family.
And for this moment,
Give yourself permission to let it all go.
So let's do that now.
Take a deep breath in while seeing your family and feeling them deeply in your heart.
Hold,
Now sigh out all control of your family.
Let them be guided by their higher power.
Let them be guided by the universe.
Let them find their own way,
Make their own discoveries,
And learn their own vital lessons,
Whether good or bad.
You are not their higher power.
So release all the control and feel free.
Now,
Let us do the same again with your partner.
And if you don't have a partner,
Think of another being in your life that you try and control,
Perhaps a friend or a colleague at work.
Now take a deep breath in whilst thinking of that person and hold them deep in your heart.
Hold,
Hold,
And let them go with a deep long breath out your mouth.
When you let go of controlling others,
You find peace.
Be still a moment now and feel that peace.
Can you feel more space within yourself,
More space for you to breathe,
To just be,
To experience peace for yourself?
You deserve peace.
You deserve to make space inside of yourself just for you.
So let's make even more space now.
I invite you to think of your present life.
Perhaps you have stresses at work or maybe trouble at home.
Maybe in your present life you have conflict within yourself.
Whatever there is in your life right now that causes you to constrict,
To tighten up,
To cling on or to control,
I want you to breathe it all out of you now here with me.
So let's breathe in your present life exactly the way it is,
Not changing anything or anyone.
Hold,
Hold,
And breathe out trying to control it all.
Let go.
Surrender completely to the way things are.
Don't think,
Want,
Or try to change anything.
Just let it be as it is.
Just let you be as you are.
Just for now.
Just for this moment with me.
It's completely safe here to let go.
So now we will let go one more time.
This time we are going to let go of our fears and control about the future.
We're going to take a deep breath in together and we're going to sigh out all our fear and control of the future.
So conjure up in your mind's eye the plans,
The fears,
The control you have around the future.
Breathe in as deeply as you can.
Hold,
Hold,
And then let that future go.
Just for this moment right now you can let go of the future.
You can let go of tomorrow.
You can let go of what's around the corner and just be here now with me.
Feel yourself in your body.
Focus on your heart and see if you can feel your heartbeat.
Be with yourself without any control and see yourself in your mind.
We have now come to the end of this affirmation audio journey.
I hope that maybe you were able to let go for a little while.
To let go of the control and give yourself a little bit of the space and freedom you deserve.
But if you didn't,
That's perfectly okay too.
There is no rush to your healing.
There is no finish line.
Take your time.
Trust the process.
Let go of trying to control your healing,
Your life,
Your growth.
Do the work.
Put in the practice.
But then let the magic happen when it's ready to in its own sweet divine time.
