Sound Bath Sessions 327: Emily Ong
By the time I got to Emily's studio the rain had pretty much stopped. There were still grumblings form the clouds not yet ready to leave. Hae Studio has a small reception area adjacent to a large yoga studio. She decided to set up in the reception area which during editing I found that because of the lack of reverberation it created more intimacy in the recording. She appropriately started with a rainstick as the thunder still boomed through the roof. And then I realized I was just not ready for this. Not after the running around, the rain, the travel, and just the static of life. This moment made me stop and turn my head. Emily's style is so fragile and delicate. So very slow and introspective. It was something I didn’t know that I had been looking for, waiting for, wanting for several months now. Ever since I experienced Fei's session in Kaohsiung, I realized that it was possible to go even deeper in my being, to truly touch my soul with sound. How much deeper can I go?
