Retraction from life can sometimes be fundamental in self-healing. It’s a form of protection where our Hearts help us pull the body aside and ask life to go on without us for a while. Some of us right here, right now, are currently deep under that dark soil. Some of us are currently in the process of allowing what we know to be whispered away from our bones. And some of us are waiting the long wait for our bodies to call us home. Wherever you are in this process, be gentle with yourself. Sez

There isn't a body in this world that hasn't wanted to pull itself away from life and bury itself deep beneath the earth,

Far away from pain.

And in that soil the body turns cold.

Flesh is whispered away.

And all that is left are the bones where no hurt can meet itself upon.

And after the winters have come and gone,

And come and gone.

And after the stones and the grass blades have grown over and all the way through the body.

And after the rains have drenched and saturated and the sun has dried and bleached.

After all is given away without want of return,

Something will happen.

This body will suddenly want to remember what the stars look like,

What spring smells like,

What cool water of the sun kissed toes feels like,

And where love lingers in the body long after its bloom.

And it will come like a soft calling from beyond the blackened horizon and the body will long to feel again.

And in listening to that calling,

In understanding that it is a yearning from something that has far greater plans for you than you do.

You will begin to slowly flesh out.

Every desire will light a flame within to live.

And not for the purpose of joy or bliss or achievement,

But for life itself.

And as these flames embrace into a roaring fire that raises above you like an unyielding sun,

The damp soil from where you lay will be warmed and nourished by the light.

And you will have no choice but to allow the crest of your head to sprout up above the ground.

And under this blaze,

Beneath this earth,

From the debris of who you once were,

You will be reborn.
