Welcome dear friend,
My name is Sue and I am so honoured you're here.
If you're listening to this there's a good chance your heart is carrying something heavy,
Maybe a loss that feels too vast to name or a grief that lingers quietly beneath the surface.
This meditation isn't here to fix anything,
It's simply here to offer you a moment of gentleness,
A space to breathe,
To be held and to know that you're not alone.
Wherever you are,
However you are,
This is for you.
Find a position that feels safe and comforting.
You can lie down or sit with your back supported,
Allow your body to soften into the shape it's in today.
Let your hands rest wherever they feel most at home,
Perhaps one hand on your heart or both resting gently by your sides or maybe you're curled up in a duvet hugging a pillow.
Bring your awareness to your breath,
No need to change it,
Just notice it.
Your breath doesn't need to be deep,
It only needs to be present and exhale.
As you continue to breathe,
Just notice your rhythm and imagine the breath as a quiet companion walking beside you through the landscape of your grief.
Not hurrying,
Not speaking,
Just staying with you.
Let yourself feel that you do not have to do this alone.
If tears come,
Let them,
If nothing comes,
Let that be okay too.
Grief is a visitor that comes in waves,
It may feel strong today,
It may feel distant.
Whatever it is,
It belongs,
Sit with it just as it is.
Imagine a soft light beginning to gather around you,
This light doesn't ask anything of you,
It simply surrounds you with warmth,
With quiet,
With understanding,
Compassion and with love.
Let this light hold the parts of you that feel too tender to carry.
Let it wrap around your heart,
Your breath and your entire being.
With every inhale invite a gentleness,
With every exhale release even a fraction of the weight.
Inhale space,
Exhale soften.
Let's rest here together for a while.
If it feels comforting for you,
Or these words resonate deep in your heart,
I honour my grief,
I welcome my feelings,
I am not broken,
I am allowed to rest,
I am held.
I honour my grief,
I welcome my feelings,
I am not broken,
I am recalibrating,
I allow myself to feel held in my rest.
You turn to notice your breath again,
Let it carry you one soft moment at a time.
Whisper to yourself,
I am here,
I am healing,
One breath at a time.
When it feels right for you,
Allow your eyes to gently open.
Wrap your arms around yourself and give yourself a big hug.
And thank you so much for sharing this space with me.
May you continue to feel held,
Softened and supported on this journey exactly as you are.
Sending you so much love right now.
