This poem is about meeting the wild, courageous women that you have inside yourself. This poem contains some Irish language (also known as Gaelic & Gaeilge). Irish is an old, native & official language still spoken in Ireland today. Translation: "Bean Fiáin na hÉireann" - Wild woman of Ireland or Wild Irish woman. "Lán le glór & grá" - Full of voice & love. "Aois níos sine na mé" -An age older than I. "Ach tá áilleacht inti, tá sí beo!" - But there is beauty in her, she is living/alive. "Is mise í" - I am her Music credit: Chris Collins "Open Heart"

Transcript

She knows what to do.

She knows who she is.

She is fierce and has courage.

She forgives herself easily.

I think I would notice her.

She feels somewhat familiar.

A sight I've yet to witness.

A future I must wait for.

How can I be like her?

How must I compare?

Perhaps the day I meet her,

I will stop and I will stare.

Bán fíon na hÉireann lán le glór agus grá.

Ís níos sine na mbé ach tá álíocht intí.

Tá sí beo.

She knows what to do.

She knows who she is and wants to be.

She is untameable and coarse.

She will not conform to me.

She has a strength only unrest would remember and comes from a place only hunger would know.

Who could she be?

Bán fíon na hÉireann Every version of me.

Every story told of you.

For those we have met and those yet to be.

Bán fíon na hÉireann Is mísa í.
