Hello.
I'm so happy to be here with you today.
I'm going to walk you through a longer gua sha routine for your face using a gua sha stone.
All you need is face oil and your gua sha stone.
I have a shorter version of this video here you can check out,
But if you're really wanting something long and deeply relaxing,
That's exactly what we're going to be doing here.
Very much encourage you to make this into a book.
Ritual.
Turn on some music.
Light some candles.
Close the door and make this some time that is just.
For.
You.
I have some incense lit over here.
And I've been getting the vibe set already today.
Pulling the hair back.
This is important to get your jewelry,
Earrings,
Necklaces,
Whatever you have on.
If you need to remove any jewelry,
I encourage you to do that now.
Getting all set.
I was just doing my facial cleansing routine,
So I already have some oil on my face,
But we're going to start first by warming up the hands.
Taking some deep breaths in and out long,
Slow inhale.
Long,
Slow exhale.
Long slow inhale.
Long,
Slow exhale.
Placing your hands over your eyes like this.
Seeing your hands on your shoulders,
The back of your neck.
Really gently.
Light pressure.
You can cup your neck like this.
It feels so good.
Breathing in,
You can hold your face like this.
If you're in front of a mirror,
You can look yourself in the eyes and say,
I see you,
I love you.
Or you can.
Close your eyes,
Turn your gaze inward.
I see you,
I love you.
We're going to do A little rub on the side of the ears here.
The backs of the ears.
Warming up the face,
Little circles.
Around the hairline.
The back of the neck.
Waking.
Everything up using your fingertips coming along here.
Stop waking up the face.
Beautiful.
Just notice even as you're doing this there's little parts of your face that may be craved.
Some touch or attention.
We carry so much tension in our face.
And our foreheads,
Our jaws,
The backs of the ears,
Our scalp.
Around the eyes,
We are fatigued in our face.
And this is also what we're presenting to the world all the time.
It's important to give some love to the face.
Taking your oil,
I'm gonna do,
I did four squirts,
Which might be too much,
Because my face already has oil on it.
It's never really too much,
Though.
We're just going to rub the oil in.
Letting it set on the skin.
Lightly,
Depending on what oil you choose,
You might need more or less depending on Your skin,
You might need more or less.
You're basically just doing enough oil for the tool,
For the Gua Sha stone to be able to move across the skin.
There are so many types of stones.
You can get them at all different price points,
All different types of stones.
And if you don't have a stone,
That's okay.
I have another video here that's just face massage using your hands.
We're here with ourselves.
Let's take our time.
Starting at the back of the neck,
I'm using this rounded edge.
We're coming up the back of the neck.
And we're going into the scalp,
Like into the hairline back here.
And we're going up.
Into the hairline.
We're getting the back sides of the neck.
I carry a lot of tension in my neck.
We are not pushing hard,
Okay?
We are working with the surface of the skin and then we're going to come behind the ear and give it a little shake like this.
We're going to come down the side of the neck into the shoulder.
Again,
I have so much tension right here,
As many of us do.
We're being very gentle,
So gentle.
And we come down the side of the front neck.
Front of the.
.
.
Neck down here into the clavicle.
And doing this little motion takes anything that's stagnant or moving.
Energy that's laying just under the skin.
And it's loosening it up.
Kind of do this.
Okay,
And then we'll do the same thing on the other side.
We'll go up the back of the neck.
And at the hairline.
Then when you get to the side of the neck,
Go behind the ear and just sort of give it a little rub.
Then come down the side of the neck here.
Into that top of that shoulder if you carry tension here.
Again,
You do not need to push hard.
I have had to continually learn this to slow down,
To not push hard or do the front of the neck.
And right down into the top of the collarbone there.
Oh,
It just feels so good.
Let's do it across again.
Okay,
Now we're gonna do the front of the throat and everything from here is just upward.
Upward motions.
And if you want to go rogue and do whatever you want,
Do whatever you want.
We're just keeping the motions very light.
Very light using the stone,
And upward.
Up and out,
And we're completing,
We're doing really long,
Full.
A full extension.
Coming up the front of the throat and getting the sides of the throat.
I like to come up over the chin a little bit when I do this.
We're moving everything upwards.
Of up or encouraging the face upward.
We are working against gravity.
Very gently.
You can even bring a little smile into it.
I tend to frown a lot,
So.
It's good to bring a little smile in.
And then again,
I'm using this.
Edge.
Along the jaw and you can kind of hold right here.
Go under.
The ear and down the side of the neck again.
Again,
It's just so.
So gentle,
The gentlest.
Say,
You know,
About five,
Four or five to six times.
With each of these motions.
You can really make this practice your own as you see fit.
Then we're going to pull up the straight edge.
We're going over the jaw and up.
Over the jaw.
And up,
Starting kind of underneath,
Pulling the face upward.
I'm not pulling the skin.
I like to do this in here.
And get those little dimples and lines in here.
It's nice to do.
Massage them out and the whole chin Again,
You can do whatever feels good for you.
And use it all.
Laugh lines in here.
Nothing wrong with some character in the face.
We're just softening it up a little bit for where it gets tense.
OK,
And then we can.
Very gently.
Move the face this way.
Or sway.
We'll move to the sun.
Side again and we'll kind of go along the cheekbone.
And do the hairline.
Going along here too.
We all have different shaped faces,
You know,
So the stone is going to move a little differently for you than it does for me.
Let's do the sides of the eyes here.
Into the hairline,
Into the hairline again.
I really like to just do a tiny little bit right up here,
Right next to the eye.
And we'll get right up here.
We're getting that brow bone,
That upper brow bone.
It catches just a little.
Again,
We're being very gentle.
And we're going to do the full forehead right here.
If you struggle with headaches.
Sinus problems is very,
Very good for that.
Very good,
Very helpful.
Beautiful.
Now we're going to move to the other side.
So come back and do the same thing over here.
You're doing four.
Up the side of the face into the hairline.
From underneath the jaw,
We're pulling upward.
And kind of come to the side with that same comby end again.
Okay,
And we got this edge once again.
You can turn it around a couple times.
It's okay.
Into the hairline.
Again,
Maybe you just want to watch this video for the ASMR quality of it.
It's just relaxing to watch other people do something relaxing.
That's okay too.
Taking some deep breaths in and out.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Still so good?
All the way back if you want to take that little comb-y end.
Get the hairline all the way back along here.
Could even take this little end and do.
Do a little shaky shake along the edge of the hairline.
And up through here if you want.
You could do a little wiggle.
And you can do these little wiggles.
If you come back to this video and do it again.
You can do these little wiggles all the way through,
Even as you're doing these,
You can do little wiggles.
Some people really like the little wiggles.
And then going back over it.
Anything else that maybe feels good.
That you're still needing or wanting any tension.
You can just.
Is there any buildup in the face?
Just sort of pulling it back down,
Letting it drain out.
Very good.
We're putting our stone down and we can kind of to start.
The face a little massage here too.
Again,
Just so gentle,
Gentle,
Gentle,
Gentle.
There we go.
There's our longer Gua Sha routine.
You can do this.
Morning,
Night,
Turn it into a ritual,
Make it a really nice time of self-care.
It's a good time to just relax.
Meditate,
Decompress,
Again,
Turn on some music,
Turn on a guided meditation.
Thank you so much for being here with me.
I am Jessica Amos.
Until next time,
May you stay with yourself today and always.
