Hi everyone and welcome to this brief visualization that's all about moving from fear into wonder.
To start out,
Just sit in a way that feels comfortable to you.
And we'll begin by bringing some gentle attention to the breath.
Just noticing as you inhale the sense of expansion.
And as you exhale the gentle sense of relaxation and letting go.
And I'll invite you to gently elongate the breaths,
Letting those inhales take up a bit more space and time,
Really filling the body with oxygen and energy.
And letting the exhale extend even a little bit longer than the inhale.
As you breathe,
Starting to come a little bit more into your body,
Feeling your weight pressing against the earth.
And just allowing yourself to soften.
The muscles soften,
The hips soften,
The belly softens.
With each breath just allowing your body to relax a little bit more.
Melting onto the earth.
And now I'll invite you to imagine that you are standing just at the beginning of a path.
You're right outside the threshold of it.
And as you look down this path,
You can't really see how far it goes or what's on the other side.
But you do have a sense of invitation.
You are being invited to set foot onto this path into the unknown.
And so when you're ready,
You take a deep breath and step across the threshold.
And as you step onto this path,
You can feel that the air has shifted slightly.
There's almost an electricity all around you.
As you continue down the path,
Lightly putting one foot in front of the other,
You notice that the path begins to constrict.
And as you continue putting one foot in front of the other,
The path starts to get a little bit darker.
So you can only see five feet in front of you.
And then three feet,
And two feet,
And one foot until soon you can barely see enough to put your foot down on the next step.
And you feel that the path has become even more constricted.
Perhaps you have to turn your body to the side.
And soon you can't see anything at all.
And at this moment,
As you feel this sense of constriction and the darkness of the unknown,
You are at choice.
You can turn back and go back the way you came,
Returning to the known world.
Or you can continue onwards into this darkness and constriction,
Accepting that invitation to set you forth on this path just moments ago.
Take a moment to really feel this moment of decision.
Feel what it would be to return to the world of the known,
And feel into the possibility of moving forward.
And now I'll invite you to make a very real choice.
If you feel ready to move on,
I'll invite you to take a deep breath in,
And continue forward,
Placing your foot firmly in the unknown.
Welcoming the discomfort of constriction.
And the moment that you decide to move forward,
The path begins to brighten.
What had seemed so impossible just moments earlier begins to open up,
And you can see very quickly,
One foot,
Two feet,
Four feet,
Five feet ahead of you,
Ten,
And the path starts to open and become much easier.
And soon you find yourself at the end of the path looking out into a vast,
Unimaginably beautiful landscape,
Full of possibility and beauty.
And as you allow yourself to take this new environment in,
Really give yourself the opportunity to experience the power of it.
Experience the vastness of this space.
What colors do you notice?
What animals or plants?
Notice how your body responds to this open,
Powerful,
Incredible new environment that you've entered by moving through the path of constriction and darkness.
I'll invite you to take a few deep breaths in this space,
With each breath in connecting deeply with the wonder and awe inspired by this amazing place that you've discovered within yourself.
And with each exhale,
Surrendering to the possibilities that open up when we make the conscious decision to move through areas of constriction.
And we'll take three deep breaths together,
Nice deep breath in,
And release.
Deep breath in,
Returning to your body now,
And release.
And one more time,
Deep breath in,
And release.
And as you return to your space in this world,
You're invited to spend some time in reflection,
Journaling or creating watercolor or sketching any reflections,
Anything that came to you during this brief journey through fear and into the world of wonder and possibility.
Thank you so much for joining this exploration,
And feel free to return anytime.
