Hi everybody,
Here are three simple Buddhist meditation practices that you can utilize to calm an overactive busy mind and become less reactive to unhelpful thoughts and develop more inner peace and calm.
Step one is to practice Buddhist Samatha meditation techniques.
To guide your body and mind into a very calmer,
Peaceful state in the beginning of your meditation practice.
There are many different ways that we can do this.
The classical ones is to practice mindfulness of breathing.
Mindfulness of the body and doing body scan techniques.
You can also go out into nature and just practice mindfulness of the beautiful nature sounds and all the sights that you see.
This helps to deeply relax the body and mind.
And now that we're in a more calmer,
Peaceful state,
Step 2 is to give your mind freedom.
And let your thoughts arise and be mindful of them with a sense of kindness and compassion.
Now this is very important because your thoughts are simply arising to be understood.
Resolve learned from and then transformed.
And then step three is to investigate the nature of your thoughts and become friends with your thoughts by further exploring them with Buddhist Vipassana meditation techniques.
Just take a pause and step back.
And contemplate on your thoughts.
And just notice if you might be fearing something in the future.
That might not ever happen.
You might be still fearing something in the past and still holding on to something in the past.
That is not even in our present moment and in our reality anymore.
You might be turning a small thing into a bigger problem.
So it's very important that we investigate the nature of our thoughts and to develop a deep understanding of them.
By practicing these Buddhist meditation techniques,
You'll start to notice that you'll be able to deeply understand your mind,
Your feelings,
And your emotions.
You will start to make peace with things in the past.
And you'll be able to start to focus your mind on what makes you happy and your path forward to living a more happier,
Successful,
Peaceful life.
So thanks so much for watching.
