Welcome to your gratitude meditation practice.
Various forms of gratitude meditation and practices have been practiced from the beginning of time by all cultures.
Developing high levels of grace and gratitude is said to be the functioning of higher states of consciousness and are considered to be powerful ways to transcend the bondage of past karmas.
Scientific studies have revealed that gratitude and counting our blessings are associated with the greatest sense of happiness and well-being.
They help to relieve depression,
Assist you to become more optimistic,
Forgiving,
Help you to become more resilient to stress,
Foster contentment and facilitate heightened feelings of positive emotions.
Ultimately,
Gratitude awakens your true nature and will enhance high levels of motivation so you can open up and tap in to the doorway of abundance consciousness and long-lasting happiness.
So prepare yourself for your gratitude meditation practice,
Make yourself comfortable and then when you're ready just gently close your eyes and just settling into our meditation asana,
Take a little bit of time,
Allow yourself to be more at ease and comfortable and then just doing a little body scan,
Becoming aware of your body,
The base of the meditation asana,
The upper body,
The arms and the head and just becoming aware of your whole body from the base to the top of the head.
Just imagine that you're looking at your body reflected back in a full-length mirror,
Just see your body reflected back from the front,
Shift the mirror to the right side,
Shift the mirror to the back and the left side and then just shift your mirror to the top.
Just becoming aware of your whole body reflected back in the mirror in all directions.
We just shift our attention to the easy breath at the nostrils and as your breath enters in to the body,
Just feeling a sense of ease flowing into the body and as you exhale,
Just feeling a sense of peace and calmness just flowing throughout your body.
Then with your next easy breath,
You might like to feel a warm golden light just flowing into the body as you inhale,
Flowing in through the feet,
The legs to the spine,
Flowing in through the fingertips,
The arms and then into the spine and just feel that golden beautiful light just flowing throughout your whole body,
Just basking in a warm,
Positive,
Vibrant golden light.
And perhaps even just let that light flow into the part of your body that is associated with gratitude.
For many people,
This is the heart area,
The heart chakra.
Then now the trin is safe,
Relaxed,
Stayed.
It's time to focus on gratitude and also with feelings of love and compassion,
Empathy and forgiveness.
So with your attention at your heart center,
You might also like to focus on your breath at the nostril as you're focusing on the heart center.
So just focusing on becoming aware of our breath and the heart center.
Start to reflect on anything in your life that you feel grateful for.
This could be your loved ones,
The nature,
Having gratitude for the place that you live.
Just start to reflect on all the things that you feel grateful for.
Find your blessing.
Perhaps you're grateful for the abundance of nature that produces all the food to nourish your body and the beautiful scenery to nourish your soul.
Then you might like to bring your attention to all of the people that nourish your life with the blessings of their presence.
Just feeling gratitude for your own life and the many gifts that you've been blessed with.
Just reflecting on what is most important to you,
What you feel most grateful for.
And as each of those things that you feel grateful for start to appear into your awareness,
Just repeat the word,
Thank you to yourself,
Becoming thankful for all of those things.
Then we just start to expand our awareness from the heart just to a higher reality.
And just feeling gratitude for the higher reality and just everything that the higher reality has bestowed on you.
Just feeling a sense of gratitude for that.
That's it.
And then you might like to bring your attention back to your body where you feel that gratitude.
You can start with your heart if you like and just feel that gratitude flowing into your body now when expanding throughout your body.
Feel that sense of gratitude and all those feelings and all those beautiful things.
Just feel that energy starting to flood your body now,
Filling you up,
That golden light with gratitude and all those beautiful things.
Just feel that light growing now and expanding.
Gratitude is just flowing throughout your body,
Every cell.
Cleansing,
Healing,
Basking,
Energizing your body with beautiful golden light and gratitude to that light.
That's it.
Okay,
Well done.
So just before we return,
On top of all those blessings that you've had and been bestowed with and everything that you feel appreciation and gratitude for now,
Let's just enhance this with the realization the universe will bestow even more things upon us to be grateful for.
So for the next few moments,
You might like to reflect on the future and all of the up and coming things that you will feel grateful for.
Just start to experience that now and have gratitude for everything that is coming in your life.
See that,
Experience it.
Okay,
So just before we return,
Just have the realization that the more you are grateful,
The more you will materialize things to be grateful for in your future.
So practice every day and you'll be on your way to receive more and more blessings.
So for now,
We'll just guide our awareness back to our breath,
Bring your awareness back to your physical body,
Becoming aware of your surroundings,
Just keeping the eyes closed for the next few moments and then when you're ready,
We'll just slowly start to externalize.
Bodies becoming more and more energized back to normal energy levels,
Returning,
Thanking the universe for the many blessings that you've had and may these blessings multiply as you continue to develop more and more appreciation and gratitude for everything that you already have in your life.
That is the end of the meditation practice.
