You know,
It seems like a difficult thing,
You know,
Staying healthy these days.
But being healthy doesn't have to be complicated.
Oh,
By the way,
Before I go on,
As a disclaimer,
I'm not a doctor and I'm not intending to give medical advice,
But just simply sharing my opinion here.
I feel that staying healthy can do more for peace of mind than almost anything.
For instance,
I don't think that one has to jump in to working really hard to get benefit from being active.
At least I personally find that there are certain things that I do that have helped me get healthier.
I've found that the basics you hear about sometimes,
You know,
Eating healthier and staying more active,
Really do seem to work for me.
You know,
At least starting somewhere can actually be pretty easy.
Well,
You know,
Simply reducing the intake of sugary and processed foods,
Well,
Especially foods that are processed heavily,
Including things like candy,
Fast foods,
Having a lot of potato chips,
Donuts,
Fried foods,
Etc.
From my observation anyway,
This can also include having a lot of sodas,
Including even diet sodas.
Now,
I personally switched all my food shopping to a major health food store chain.
And now,
Although I still sometimes buy sweetened foods,
Etc.
,
Well,
I've noticed that health food stores seem to generally sell things that lean toward better natural health.
And I think that was the key for my first step toward better health,
Starting to knock off the most unhealthy foods,
Like fried foods and fast food,
As well as overly processed food,
And,
Well,
Starting to eat more natural meals.
Also,
I started eating organic salads almost every day.
Now,
For all my produce and vegetables,
I try to get everything organic,
Or at least as much as I can.
Most health food stores have a good selection of organics,
And even some normal stores have an organics section.
In any event,
Rather than go on here with everything I have in my refrigerator and the vitamins I take and all that,
Well,
I'll just say I kept it simple at first.
I just started knocking off the most unhealthy foods and gradually switched over to organics and such.
Well,
You know,
At least for the food I eat at home.
Now,
For activity and movement,
I found that being sedate and not moving much helped to produce bad health.
And a couple of years ago,
When I started being more active,
Well,
For me it was lightly jogging,
But some people can't jog,
So it might be whatever their doctor might suggest for movement.
My health started to improve.
I got colds less often and so forth.
So,
In summary,
From my observation,
One doesn't have to be a marathon runner or severely change their diet overnight to see improvement and to move in the right direction.
