It is here to support you before an important moment,
A time that may stir doubt or fear.
You will learn to steady your breath,
To release your body and to reconnect with that quiet strength already within you.
So you can move forward with greater clarity and assurance.
I invite you to settle yourself comfortably,
Gently close your eyes or let your gaze soften and drift ahead of you.
Release the weight carried by your shoulders,
Loosen your neck,
Your jaw,
Become aware of the place within you where your body and mind are ready to let go.
Hold this breath for a moment,
Then exhale slowly through your mouth,
Hold,
Exhale.
With each breath released,
A layer of tension melts away,
Your breathing finds its rhythm,
Calm,
Steady,
Supportive.
Repeat this cycle several times,
Allowing yourself to be carried by the music.
Bring your attention down to your feet,
Feel them rooted firmly to the ground,
Your thighs soften,
Your pelvis releases,
Your belly softens,
Each step unnecessary tensions drift away,
Your arms unburden,
Your hands unclench,
Your face softens,
A sense of ease now spreads through you.
Now imagine yourself in this very moment living through the situation as it is.
Ahead,
Perhaps an exam,
An interview,
An important meeting,
Or a speech,
A sporting challenge,
A medical appointment.
Picture the scene unfolding right here,
Right now.
And notice that through it all,
You breathe with ease.
Recognize that you are simply engaging with other human beings.
They too have their strengths and their weaknesses,
Their doubts at times.
They are fallible just as you are.
And so you can release the pressure,
Let go of apprehension and inhibition.
If this moment is meant to open the way to success,
It will.
And if a setback comes,
It carries a lesson,
A step that prepares you for what is next.
