For this meditation,
I will ask you to think of an idea or project that really matters to you.
Something that you really long to create.
If you have a project or idea in mind,
We can begin.
Find a nice comfortable place to sit and close your eyes.
Just let your body settle into the seat.
Let your breath settle.
And then take a nice deep breath in.
And exhale completely.
Take another deep breath in.
And breathe out completely.
One more big inhale.
And long exhale.
Now bring your attention to your body.
Just observe what is happening in your body right now.
There is no need to change anything or to move anything.
Just observe and let your body anchor you into the present moment.
Now repeat these phrases after me.
I am not my body.
I have a body,
But it's not who I really am.
Just notice whatever comes up,
Whatever feeling or emotion when you say this.
I am not my body.
I am not my emotions.
I have emotions,
But they are not who I truly am.
I am not my mind.
I have a mind,
But it is not who I truly am.
I am not my body.
I am not my emotions.
And I am not my mind.
Now bring to mind that idea or project that really matters to you.
And ask yourself the question,
How do I want to feel while I'm working on this idea?
What emotions or qualities do I want to embody while working on this idea?
And then let those feelings or qualities slowly fill you up.
Let them fill up your body from your toes all the way up to the head.
Let the quality fill up your mood.
And then let this quality fill up your mind.
You are fully filled up with this quality,
Your whole being filled up.
And you sit with it and observe.
Now still feeling this quality,
Start to bring some movement into your body.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Or maybe stretch your arms up if you feel like it.
Just start to bring yourself back from the meditation.
And slowly,
Whenever you feel like it,
You can open your eyes.
Just take your time.
Now you might want to write down a few words or journal about your experience of what came up while you wanted to find the qualities and emotions that you're trying to embody through the ideas and projects that you want to create.
