Everyone,
Most of us,
Has been experienced.
The mind keep talking to us during meditation.
It's keep talking to us because we keep feeding them.
We keep talking to our own thoughts.
We keep reacting to every thoughts and every emotions which occurred.
It is called associative thinking.
We associating everything and is leading to the next thoughts.
For example,
You sitting for a meditation and after few minutes there is a nice beautiful smell,
Fragrant and you experience that fragrance.
It's aroma smell of a soup and suddenly your mind is moving from aroma smell to the soup and then you think about I heard the same soup with the same smell with my friend.
Then your mind is thinking about your friend.
The moment you think about your friend you will think my friend is in London.
I didn't see her for a while.
Then your mind move from friend to London.
When you think about London then you start thinking about other friends and the places you went.
When you think about that place you rethinking you need to visit that place again.
Then you're thinking you need to book a flight.
Then you're thinking about calling a person.
Then you're thinking about that person who is helping you for bookings.
See how the mind is when it moved from one place to another place and one person to another person because we start responding we start reacting to it.
When the aroma smell comes do not respond it.
Do not react.
Do not say yes or no good or bad.
Just experience in silence.
Follow equanimity.
You're not reacting.
You're not responding.
Just being with yourself.
The moment you follow that,
The moment your non reactive state,
The moment you stop feeding to the mind and encouraging the mind to bring connective thoughts,
Associative thoughts related to that thought.
It will stop bringing,
Dragging new thoughts to your mind and this is the easiest and simplest way to keep the mind calmer,
Reducing the speed of the thoughts and it will helps gradually to experience the inner silence and inner stillness.
The moment we realize we are the one feeding the monkey mind to play and jump around and follow the non reactive state.
Follow an equanimity.
You will slowly slip into silence and silence get deeper and you become still to experience the deeper state of meditation.
