Hi,
This is Vishnu.
Today I want to discuss about mantras.
As you know that we in our meditation practices we have mantra meditations,
Mantra chantings in all the cultures,
All the traditions you can see people use beads to count the mantras and chanting repeatedly and also in meditations the mantras are mostly used.
What is this mantra?
Why we use that mantra?
In Sanskrit mantra it's two words combination.
Man means mind or intellect.
Tra means liberate or transform.
So it's combination of two words man and tra.
It's liberating the mind,
It's transforming the mind and when we are chanting this mantra what's happening?
Each mantra have it stimulate different energy centers in our body when we move in the tongue and the more you repeat it blueprints,
It's create a certain vibration within ourselves through the nadis.
Each mantra have each stimulation centers.
There are chakras stimulating your heart chakras,
There is mantras which is vibrating the entire aura.
There are mantras to soothe and relaxes your nervous system which means nadis.
We have connected to 72,
000 austral tubes which is in Sanskrit we call as nadis.
What when we do the meditation when we chanting this mantra what's really happening is it help to cancel the thoughts.
One thought comes you repeat a mantra it cancels each other.
If you keep the mind just in the beginning stage of meditation journey when you keep the mind just empty after few seconds three to four seconds the new thoughts arrives.
Instead of letting the mind to do thousand things letting the mind to wonder and ponder so many other thoughts you're giving one job to the mind.
You're just telling the monkey mind to just claim this tree go up and down just go up and down just go up and down instead of letting the monkey to jump tree after tree or moving or running around.
You're giving one job to the mind continuously instead of jumping around.
That is a main purpose of repeating during the meditation as a preparation and gradually your repetition becomes verbal then it becomes you without moving your tongue you mentally start chanting this mantras.
It is like a blueprint it stick to your nervous system it sticks to your every cell start vibrating the same mantra and it will helps gradually to reduce the speed of the mind and thoughts and letting the mind to naturally come to one single pointness and it will prepare you for meditation gradually this mantras will slow down and slow down and slowly fades away and then you will entering to the deep state of meditation which help to transform the mind to liberate the mind.
That is the main goal of mantras which is we use and this mantras we channelizing the divine energy the cosmic flow of energy and thousands of years before the yogis has been used this mantras to channelize those energy to vibrate rise the vibration of themselves to create the supreme consciousness elevating the self consciousness to the higher consciousness to union with the supreme consciousness the universal consciousness.
I hope you understand and will discuss more about mantras in coming talks.
Thank you.
