In collaboration with Christopher Ifeloluwa, Holy Spirits uses traditional Yoruba percussion to create a space for physical release. Featuring the Shekere (tambourine) and 2 sets of IBA drums from Badagiri, the piece is rooted in the West African philosophy of "alignment"—using a steady rhythm to re-sync the body's internal pulse with a grounded frequency. The intent is humble: to settle the "inner head" (Ori), the seat of intuition and calm in Yoruba tradition. By centering on these repetitive rhythms, you give your nervous system a chance to quiet external noise and simply breathe. It is not a guaranteed fix, but a practical invitation to let the drums act as a temporary heartbeat, providing a physical anchor when the day feels scattered. Drums & Rhythmic category (rhythm): When your mind is racing, these steady, traditional beats act as your anchor. The rhythm gives your wandering attention something solid to hold onto, keeping you grounded in the "here and now."
