Hello,
Friends.
Before we begin tonight's Jujubelle story,
Let's make sure we are all cozy and settled in our bed.
Dim your lights and get your pillows,
Blankets,
And stuffed animals just the way you like them.
Before heading to Fairyville to hear about Jujubelle's adventure,
I'd like us to take three centering breaths together.
As you inhale through your nose,
I want you to imagine a white,
Sparkly light moving through your body.
Perhaps it's Jujubelle's fairy dust.
And as you exhale and breathe out,
Imagine that white light or fairy dust coming out through your feet.
We will do this three times.
You can place your hands on your belly or heart so you can feel your breath.
When you hear me ring a bell,
We will begin and I will breathe with you.
We are now ready to enter Fairyville where our story begins.
We find our friend Jujubelle in the village market.
She has just picked up some freshly baked muffins from Sprinkles Bakery and was on her way back home when she noticed a flyer posted on the clock tower in the village.
It read,
108th Fairyville Tournament,
Show off your spells.
All fairies with their magical powers are welcome to enter.
First place winner receives a fairy-tastic prize.
Well,
This was the first time Jujubelle would be eligible to compete in the Fairyville Tournament.
As a little fairy growing up in Fairyville,
Fairyville Tournament Day was one of Jujubelle's favorite days of the year.
All the fairies with magic powers would break out their best wands and their most sparkly wings.
Shopkeepers would line the streets selling their crafts,
Potions,
And savory treats.
The entire village would gather to watch the tournament and to see which fairy would win the trophy for the most magical fairy.
Jujubelle floated all the way home thinking about the Fairyville Tournament.
She could hardly believe she would be able to compete this year.
She thought about what wand she would use,
Which spell she would cast,
And what sparkles she would sprinkle.
Jujubelle pictured herself holding that first place trophy as all her friends threw flowers and fairy glitter around her.
The tournament was four weeks away,
Which gave Jujubelle exactly one month to decide on which spell to cast.
Would it be the super stinky Shababadoo shrinking potion?
The Shababadoo shrinker could take the largest mountain and shrink it into the tip of a fairy's wand.
Perhaps instead she would cast the Dapperdo Dream Delight spell.
The Dapperdo Dream Delight could make you break into a laughing fit during your dreams.
Or maybe the impressive Lollipazoo Lickety Black dancing spell.
This Lickety Black spell can make the most aloof cat break out into a song and dance.
There were so many options it was hard to just choose one.
However,
After much deliberation,
Jujubelle decided on the Razzmatazz Bubble Rainbow spell.
If done correctly,
The Razzmatazz Bubble Rainbow creates a magical bubble around every fairy.
Once a fairy is inside the bubble,
The bubble begins to glow.
And the color of the bubble changes into all the different colors of the rainbow.
The fairy inside the bubble gets to experience the sensation of every color.
When the bubble is red,
A fairy may feel powerful like hot lava.
A yellow bubble can make you feel as bright and shiny as the sun.
And a blue bubble will make you feel as vast and spacious as the sky.
However,
If the Razzmatazz spell is cast incorrectly,
It can cause the bubble to freeze and the fairy will be stuck in the bubble.
Jujubelle practiced day after day and night after night.
She knew if she chose to cast the Razzmatazz Bubble Rainbow spell,
She had to get it exactly right.
She did not want any fairy to get stuck in the bubble.
One day,
After hours and hours of practice,
She decided she needed a little break so she went out for an afternoon stroll.
She floated by a few of the older fairies and she overheard them talking about their spells.
They all sounded so confident and self-assured.
This made Jujubelle start doubting herself.
She questioned if the Razzmatazz was a too ambitious spell to cast.
Perhaps it would be a safer option to quit and watch the tournament instead.
This way,
There would be no chance she would embarrass herself.
She almost convinced herself of this decision when she floated by her dear and wise friend Vivy Rose.
Vivy Rose was out picking flowers in her garden when she noticed a sad Jujubelle floating by with a very little sparkle.
Vivy Rose invited Jujubelle into her garden for a chat.
Vivy Rose brought out two cups of the most delicious lemon squeezy-peasy lemonade and the fairies sat together in Vivy Rose's garden.
Vivy Rose asked Jujubelle why she looked so sour.
Jujubelle told her everything.
She told her about the tournament,
About the Razzmatazz spells she planned to cast,
And how she was afraid it would all go wrong so she decided it was better to back out.
Vivy Rose smiled.
She recalled her first time competing in the Fairyville tournament.
She told Jujubelle how she was nervous too and she also considered dropping out.
Yet she was so glad she chose to stick with it.
While she did not come close to winning the tournament,
She told Jujubelle it was a wonderful experience and time in her life.
She learned new spells and she felt a camaraderie with many of the fairies.
Vivy Rose urged Jujubelle to reconsider.
She reminded her that while winning feels good,
It is not everything.
It's more important to learn how to lose with grace and to be a team player.
Jujubelle took Vivy Rose's words to heart and she decided she would go through with the spell.
On the morning of the tournament,
Jujubelle headed into the town square.
There was music in the air and the energy in the village was lively and spirited.
Jujubelle saw some friends on her way into the tournament ring and they all wished her luck.
As Jujubelle walked into the ring,
She was greeted warmly by the other fairies.
When the fairies heard it was Jujubelle's first time competing,
They also fondly remembered their first time and they gave Jujubelle some helpful tips.
They told her to keep her focus and to try not to let the photographers taking pictures or the fairies cheering in the stands distract her.
When it was Jujubelle's turn to cast the razzmatazz spell,
All the fairy friends started cheering loudly.
She walked to the center of the ring and in a loud and confident voice she said,
Razzmatazz,
Bubble rainbow,
Colors begin to grow,
Bubble up and fill the sky,
Fairies start to glow.
Jujubelle noticed a glowing bubble forming over every fairy.
The bubble started floating up,
Up,
Up and in the air.
Jujubelle held her wand tightly and kept it raised high.
Next,
The bubble started glowing red and you could see to the fairies delight they were feeling the effects.
Jujubelle kept her wand raised and she waited for the bubble to turn orange.
She waited and waited and waited and then she started to panic.
The color was not changing and if the color didn't change soon the fairies would be stuck in the bubble.
Jujubelle froze in panic.
What if she failed?
What if the fairies stay stuck?
She looked around and she saw Vivi Rose in the stands.
They caught each other's eye and she saw Vivi Rose take a deep breath.
This was a reminder to Jujubelle to breathe and to soften.
Now one of the most important rules of spell casting is to remember to breathe.
If a fairy holds their breath,
A spell will cease to work.
A fairy needs to be open and relaxed in order for a spell to hold its power.
Jujubelle was so nervous it felt almost impossible to breathe.
Yet she found it within herself to take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath.
She felt herself begin to soften and then she noticed the bubble started turning an orange hue and then all the fairies applauded.
She took another deep breath and the bubble turned to yellow and then a glowing green,
Blue,
Indigo,
And purple.
You could see all the fairies inside their bubble enjoying the rainbow and the sensation each color gave off.
All the fairies cheered and applauded and Jujubelle felt a sense of relief.
Now while she did not end up winning the tournament this year,
Jujubelle felt proud of herself for getting over her fear and for trying something new.
She was also reminded of the ever important lesson where breath flows,
Energy goes.
She knew that the next time a spell was stuck,
A deep breath would help make the magic flow again.
Sweet dreams,
My friend.
