Hi and welcome to this meditation in regards to your parents.

And I want to do a mini exercise for family constellations.

I'm now doing this as a new education,

So hopefully this might be helpful for you.

And I recently posted a talk about parentification on Insight Timer,

So go check it out.

But here you are,

Listening to this meditation,

And I want you to know that as a child,

We could have had a lot of responsibilities we didn't even want.

And it's good to ask the question,

What is something I want?

What do I find important in my life?

Without thinking about your parents,

The family system,

The family constellation you grew on.

And in the next exercise,

I want to do a meditation where we focus on you,

And what you really want,

Need in life.

But first,

We're going to focus on your parents,

What their wishes are for you,

So that we then can better see what your own wishes are.

Hopefully.

So please,

Set the intention,

A positive intention,

To work with both of your parents,

So that you can really feel your goals,

Your purpose,

And your ideals.

Okay,

Now we've set the intention,

A positive one,

And I want you to take three deep breaths in through the nose,

And then hold it on top of your lungs,

And breathe out slowly through pursed lips.

As long as your out-breath is longer than your inhale,

You're doing it right.

So please join me by breathing in.

Hold it on top of your lungs,

And breathe out through pursed lips.

Another deep breath in.

Hold it,

And out.

One more deep breath in.

Hold it,

And breathe out.

Return to your natural breath,

And have a little check-in.

How am I feeling?

Okay,

Let's begin.

For the next exercise,

You might want to take three chairs,

Or three pieces of paper,

Or both.

Pause this recording if you need to.

Write on one piece of paper the name of your father,

Another piece of paper the name of your mother,

And on the other piece of paper the name of yourself.

You can either put these papers on the chairs,

Or put it on the ground directly if you're not using chairs.

Now go sit on the chair or stand on the paper,

Which represents your father.

It might seem weird,

But really go into their mind.

How would they think?

How do they look?

And how do they feel?

It might be helpful to really sit as they sit,

And talk like they talk,

And ask yourself the question,

What is a wish my dad has for me?

What does he think is important for me?

If my father had a wish for me,

What would it be?

Would my father pass that on to me?

And pause the recording if you need more time.

Otherwise,

Think about your father and their wish,

And speak it out loud.

And it might be helpful to even say their wish to you out loud a couple of times.

And now on to the next chair or piece of paper,

And that's from your mom.

How would they think?

How would they feel and act the way they act?

Sit the way your mother would sit,

And then ask yourself the question,

What is my mother's wish for me?

What does my mother think is important for me?

If she would have a wish for me,

What would it be?

What does she want to pass on to me?

And now it's time to speak out loud,

Or even a couple of times,

What your mother's wish would be for you.

And now it's time to sit on your own chair,

And ask yourself,

What do I find important?

What is my life all about?

What do I want to experience in my life?

If you need more time,

Pause the recording,

Otherwise,

Think of yourself as a very,

Very old person,

And what is a wish they have for you right now.

And speak of that wish out loud three times.

And finally,

Go sit on a place,

On a space,

That feels really good for you,

And see the three persons in front of you,

Your father,

Your mother,

And that very,

Very old version of yourself.

They all have wishes for you,

And let them speak their wishes,

And try to focus on the ones that feel most powerful and natural,

And take it in.

And give yourself a hug,

And thank yourself for this,

Hopefully,

Healing exercise,

And I thank you for listening.
