Welcome.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.
Whether you are sitting or lying down.
Allow your body to feel fully supported.
If it feels comfortable,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through the nose.
And softly exhale through the mouth.
Again breathing in,
Inviting calm.
Breathing out and letting go.
And one more slow nourishing breath.
And allow your shoulders to soften.
And your jaw to relax.
The muscles around your eyes to become smooth and gentle.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing you need to achieve.
For these next few minutes,
Simply allow yourself to rest.
As your breath finds its own natural rhythm.
Imagine that each inhale brings peace into your body.
And each exhale releases tension.
Worry.
And anything you no longer need to carry.
Feel yourself becoming more present with every breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
The steady rhythm of your breathing.
The quiet stillness that already exists beneath the busyness of the mind.
Allow yourself.
To simply be.
Now imagine a warm,
Golden light.
Glowing softly within the centre of your heart.
This light is gentle.
Peaceful.
Radiant.
It asks nothing of you.
It is simply the natural kindness that already lives within you.
With every breath.
This light becomes a little brighter.
A little warmer.
Filling your chest with a quiet sense of compassion and ease.
As you rest in this warm light.
Begin offering yourself these gentle words.
There is no need to force the feelings.
Simply plant the seeds with sincerity.
Silently repeat.
May I be safe.
May they be healthy.
May I be peaceful.
May I be happy.
May I live with ease.
Allow these words to settle gently into your heart.
Perhaps you notice warmth.
Softness.
Or perhaps you simply notice your breathing.
Whatever you experience is completely inner.
Continue breathing gently.
Receiving these wishes as though they are sunlight nourishing a beautiful garden within you.
You Now bring to mind someone who has been kind to you.
Someone whose presence naturally brings a smile.
Maybe a family member.
A close friend.
Teacher.
And labour.
Or perhaps a beloved pet.
See them as clearly as you can.
Notice their face.
Their expression.
Imagine them surrounded by the same warm golden light.
As you hold them gently in your awareness.
Silently offer them these wishes.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you be peaceful.
May you be happy.
May you live with ease.
Imagine these wishes flowing from your heart like warm rays of sunlight.
Surrounding them with love and kindness.
Take a slow breath.
And simply rest for a few moments in this feeling of connection.
Now allow another person to come into your awareness.
Someone you know.
Perhaps not very well.
Maybe the person who served you morning coffee.
A neighbor you pass while walking.
Someone it was.
Someone whose life,
Just like yours,
Contains both joys and challenges.
See them before you.
Recognize that they too wish to feel safe.
To be loved.
To be healthy.
To know happiness.
Offer them these words.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you be peaceful.
May you be happy.
May you live with ease.
Notice how kindness asks for nothing in return.
Simply flows freely.
Naturally.
Like sunlight shining on everyone equally.
Now if it feels appropriate today.
Gently bring to mind someone with whom you have experienced difficulty.
Choose someone that feels manageable.
There is no need to revisit deep pain.
Simply someone with whom there has been tension.
Remember loving-kindness does not mean approving of harmful behavior.
It does not mean forgetting healthy boundaries.
It simply recognizes our shared humanity.
This person also experiences fear.
Disappointment.
Longing.
And the desire to be happy.
Holding them lightly in your awareness,
Repeat.
May you feel safe.
May you be healthy.
May you find peace.
May you be free from unnecessary suffering.
May you live with wisdom and compassion.
If resistance arises simply notice it with kindness.
There is nothing to fix.
Just breathe.
Sometimes the greatest act of compassion.
Simply being willing to soften.
Even a little.
Now allow your awareness to expand beyond individual people.
Imagine your heart becoming brighter.
A warm golden light gently growing larger with every breath.
It fills the room around you.
It flows beyond the walls.
Across your neighborhood.
Your town.
Your country.
Across forests.
Mountains.
Rivers.
Essex.
The oceans.
Imagine this gentle light touching every person.
Every child.
Every family.
Every community.
Every nation.
Extending to every living creature.
To birds flying overhead.
Animals roaming the forests.
Creatures beneath the sea.
Even the smallest forms of life.
Silently offer these words to all beings everywhere.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be healthy.
May all beings be peaceful.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings live with ease.
Rest for a few quiet moments,
Imagining the entire world gently wrapped in compassion.
Kindness.
Peace.
You begin to notice your breathing once more.
Feel the gentle movement of your chest.
The steady support beneath your body.
Notice how your heart feels.
Perhaps a little lighter.
A little softer.
Or perhaps simply quieter.
Know that every small act of kindness matters.
Every compassionate thought creates gentle ripples that extend far beyond what we can see.
As you move through your day.
May you carry this loving presence with you.
May your words be gentle.
May your heart remain open.
May you offer yourself the same compassion you so freely offer to others.
Take one final slow nourishing breath in.
And exhale completely.
And when you are ready.
Begin to gently wiggle your fingers.
Your toes.
Perhaps rolling your shoulders softly.
And in your own time.
Slowly.
Open your eyes.
Carry this kindness with you.
May you be peaceful.
May you be well May you be filled with compassion.
Thank you for joining me.
Namaste.
