A good now pause.
Back to the body.
An exercise inspired by Shirzad of the PQ Method.
The next time you find yourself mad or frustrated.
Let that be a cue to pause.
And gently say whisper or think.
Good.
And then into your body simply by rubbing your fingertips together.
It doesn't matter which finger,
You can use all if you'd like.
But just simply rub them together.
Put all of your attention on that.
Noticing the texture.
The sensation.
The temperature.
The idea is to be fully present in this exercise,
One or both hands,
Whichever works best.
To shift that pattern.
The idea is to bring you out of your head and into your body so that you create this,
This is a natural response to when things become stressful and your mind is just like.
Somewhere,
Just gone.
This is to remind you that your body is always here and can be used as an anchor to bring you back to the present moment.
So you don't have to chase your mind.
Do you have a cartoon?
Whenever I say that,
I think of a cartoon running after a mind.
I digress.
You don't have to chase your mind,
Chase your thoughts.
You can be right here.
Right now.
In this present moment.
The beautiful,
Cool thing about this is if you just do it ever so slightly,
You can be quite discreet.
So if you're out in public and someone is just driving you crazy at that moment because your nerves are just.
.
.
They're a little frayed.
You can just rub some fingers together without anyone even knowing.
And you can just smile and say,
Good now.
And keep it moving.
Shift out of fight or flight and come back into your body.
So give it a try today.
Whenever a moment calls for you to take a pause,
And say,
Good now,
Go ahead and bring yourself back to your body.
Let me know how it goes.
Share your thoughts,
Share your questions.
Whatever you need,
I am here to support you.
And with that said,
May you create the most amazing now moments.
Until I see you next time,
Make every moment count.
Ciao for now.
