If you identify as neurodivergent, you may have noticed that traditional nervous system advice doesn’t always feel like it fits. “Take a deep breath.” “Just relax.” “Slow down.” For many neurodivergent nervous systems, regulation is more complex. In this video, we explore how ADHD, autism, and OCD can influence sensory processing, emotional intensity, overwhelm, focus, and rest. We'll also explore why your nervous system may need different kinds of support. You’ll learn why regulation doesn’t always look like calm, how neurodivergent nervous systems process the world differently, why pushing through overwhelm often backfires, and what supportive regulation can actually look like in daily life. This is not about becoming less neurodivergent. It’s about learning to work with your nervous system instead of against it. At the end, I’ll guide you through a simple nervous system check-in to help you notice what your system is asking for and respond with more compassion and clarity. Please note: This practice is for educational and supportive purposes and does not replace professional medical or psychological care.
