You aren't failing,
You're finally being seen.
This is a quiet meditation for the moments when you feel worn thin.
Settle into a comfortable position,
Let your hands rest wherever they naturally fall.
Take a slow breath in through the nose and an easy sigh out through your mouth.
Do that twice more,
No rush.
Pause here and feel the weight of your body being held.
There's nothing to fix in this moment,
Nothing to perform,
Just you breathing.
As you settle,
Notice the truth of this season you're in.
For years you may have been pushed,
Carried,
Organised,
Soothed,
Explained,
Often without being asked,
Often without being seen.
And now as your hormones shift and your energy changes,
The old ways of coping don't quite work the same.
But you're not failing,
You're finally being revealed.
The mask of holding it all together is thinning,
And what's underneath is simply the real you asking for space.
Let your next breath soften the edges of your body,
Let the shoulders drop a little,
Let the jaw loosen,
Let the belly move freely.
Say quietly to yourself,
I don't have to overcompensate anymore,
Let that land.
Feel how it settles in the chest or the belly,
And again,
It's safe for me to be seen as I am.
Rest with that for a few breaths.
If thoughts come up,
Let them drift through.
You're not trying to achieve anything here,
You're simply meeting yourself honestly,
Maybe for the first time in a long while.
Notice how your breath finds a more natural rhythm,
Notice the steadiness underneath the tiredness,
Notice the part of you that's relieved to stop trying so hard.
To close,
Place one hand on your chest and one in your belly if that's comfortable.
Feel the warmth of your own touch.
Quietly say,
I am allowed to take up space.
I am allowed to rest.
Take one slow breath in and one gentle breath out,
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes or lift your gaze.
You haven't failed,
You've simply stopped hiding.
Thank you for joining me today.
