Find a comfortable position,

You may sit or lie down,

Allowing your body to relax.

Close your eyes gently or lower your gaze and take a deep breath in and out,

Feel yourself settle into the present moment.

Let go of any tension in your shoulders,

Your hands,

Your face.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Let each breath bring a sense of ease,

A gentle reminder that you are here and that in this moment there is nothing to do but be.

Now bring your attention to your thoughts,

Imagine them as clouds drifting through the sky of your mind.

Some thoughts may be light and wispy,

Passing quickly.

Others may be heavier,

Lingering a little longer.

Notice how these thoughts create feelings,

May be comfort,

May be uncertainty,

May be longing,

Without judgment.

Simply observe,

Consider this,

Your thoughts are not fixed,

They are not absolute truths,

They arise,

They pass,

And new thoughts take their place.

And just like the clouds,

They have no power on their own,

Only the meaning that we give them.

Now recall a time when you felt disconnected or left out.

Allow yourself to gently step back and see it from a different lens.

Was it the situation that created the feeling?

Or was it the thoughts about the situation?

Let's take a deep breath in and as you exhale,

Let go of any belief that your thoughts come from the outside world.

You are experiencing your thoughts nothing more.

Till we meet again.
