Welcome to the Grounded Sleep Podcast. Tonight, you don't have to do anything except get into bed, close your eyes, and allow me to guide you into a deep, restful sleep. Enjoy letting go of the day, quieting all the mental noise, and going back to that primordial place of stillness that is calling you back.

So,
There's a doorway at the edge of wakefulness.
It's a place where your mind begins to wander into a quiet world of dreams.
Let's call it a portal from the waking space into the dreamscape.
And tonight,
As we go to sleep,
Together,
We're going to cross that threshold.
But before we do,
Welcome back to the Grounded Sleep Podcast.
I'm David,
And it's good to be here with you,
Guiding you into a deep,
Restful sleep.
So,
If you haven't already,
Brush your teeth,
Get your PJs on,
Turn the lights off,
And find a comfortable place to sleep.
I recently saw a video of a bear getting its den ready for winter to sleep.
And,
Just like a human,
Getting everything together just in the right spot to get nice and cozy.
And you might only be sleeping one night at a time,
Not for an entire winter,
Or maybe you are,
But see if you can find just the right position,
Be nice and comfortable in your bed.
And let your head start to sink into your pillow as you gently close your eyes,
As you start slowing your breathing down.
Notice that your body can relax into this moment.
And so,
Tonight,
We're going to be moving into and through what we can call a dream portal.
Slowly,
As we fall asleep tonight,
I'll be moving towards that portal,
Away from our waking space,
And into the astral plane of dreams.
You can begin by slowly letting the day drift away,
All the things you've been thinking about,
The to-do list,
The oops-I-didn't-do list,
Anything that needed your attention today.
Perhaps it can get your attention tomorrow,
Or somewhere else in the future.
But tonight,
You're going to honor yourself.
You're going to honor your sleep.
So as you breathe slowly,
You're just drawing your awareness into this moment.
Notice your hands can soften,
Your belly,
Your chest,
Your jaw,
Even your ears,
From the top of your head down to the bottom of your feet,
And out to your fingertips.
Your entire body can start to shift into rest mode,
And as you shift into rest mode,
You can start to set an intention of where you want to go in your dreams.
Would you like to go exploring other worlds?
Do you want to be creative?
Perhaps tonight you'd prefer to be in a reflective space,
Or process emotion in the past.
Or maybe you just want to let go and allow your dreams to happen.
It's entirely up to you.
But as you lay here with me,
And begin to allow yourself to let go into sleep,
See if you can set an intention,
Let yourself feel that intention in your body,
And just be nice and relaxed,
And I'd like you to imagine out in front of you under a beautiful starry night,
You can see a body of water in front of you.
Perhaps the waves are gently crashing to the shore,
And at a distance out on the water,
You start to see a light.
At first,
It's a bit hazy,
You can't really tell what it is,
And then it starts to get bigger and a bit closer,
It has an inviting,
Almost spiritual quality to it,
And right in front of your eyes,
It's beginning to form into something.
You don't quite know what it is yet,
You're just at the shore watching with a sense of curiosity and awe under a beautiful starry night.
And then,
All of a sudden,
It forms into a portal,
Or a doorway,
And it's a doorway into the dream world,
Perhaps in a very subtle way you can even hear the cosmic music playing from the portal,
Letting you know it's a safe,
Comfortable experience to walk through.
And then,
From this portal,
From this doorway,
All of a sudden,
There's an ethereal walkway,
A path,
That extends over the water all the way towards you,
And it's translucent,
So you can still see the water,
And it extends all the way from the portal to your feet.
And you look down,
And it feels safe,
And you decide,
I'm going to take this journey.
And this is where you begin to make the journey from the waking state across the threshold into the dream state,
And into a night of deep,
Restful sleep.
So you allow yourself to begin walking along this ethereal path over the water.
And you're walking,
But you're kind of floating,
It's a very gentle walk.
There's no gravity here.
You walk just with your intention.
And as you're walking,
You take a look up at the night sky,
Perhaps there's a shooting star or two.
And then you begin to reach the portal,
You reach this doorway into sleep.
And to pass through this portal,
You realize you want to be nice and calm,
Have a clear intention,
And a state of inner peace.
And you begin to take a step through the portal.
You begin to move your entire body through the portal,
Into a world where there is no matter,
No gravity,
No time.
And as you cross through,
You realize you're in your astral body or your dream body.
It's an ethereal version of you.
It's an almost translucent version of you,
Where there's nothing solid.
And there is a walkway down to this other shore in a different world.
And now you're in the dream version,
You're in the dream world.
There is so much potential here.
As you begin to fall asleep,
You let yourself drift away into this dream world.
Instead of creating it,
It will take you for a journey and show you what you need to see tonight.
Start to really let go of the world.
Let yourself be and see this dream world.
And the rules are different here.
The more you can let go,
The more you can just be.
The more you move with your intention of mind rather than of body,
The easier it'll be to navigate.
There is a special journey that's calling you tonight.
Allow yourself to drift away into it.
Have a deep restful sleep.
Enjoy the dream world.
And I'll see you on the other side.

. Boy did that put me to sleep! It was 1:30AM and I still hadn’t fallen aslee yet. . After being in bed for almost 2hrs I thought maybe I’d try one of your sleep podcast meditations. Thanks, David. This has been my favorite of your sleep meditations. I like the portal because I visualize my late husband and it always helps me to rest easy when I see him. I believe my soul often leaves my body when I sleep, and he and I astral travel around the universe. And this meditation helped me create that. I have no memory of it in the morning, but I like to believe it’s true. Namaste.🙏
