Sandy Shores Begin by relaxing the body,
Find a comfortable position,
Mentally affirm to yourself that this time is for you and only you.
Allow all tension to melt away as you gently close the eyes.
Release.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale release a little bit more into your chosen meditative posture.
Feel free to do that a few times if it feels right.
Become aware of your connection to the ground and to the earth beneath you.
Notice how you are fully supported here.
Connect to the body parts that are touching the ground.
Realise that your awareness does not stop at the earth's surface.
You are aware of the minerals and gases.
The elements that flow beneath you also flow through you.
Allow this connection and awareness to expand for a moment.
Your awareness moves deeper through each layer of yourself and of the ground beneath you.
Now notice the space around you,
The space above you.
You are not only aware of the air that touches your skin but also aware of the space that fills the room.
Aware of the space beyond the room,
Aware of the space that is the vastness of space beyond your immediate surroundings.
Your awareness is unlimited and here you are at the centre of it all.
Imagine you are on the sandy shores of a beach.
The sun is shining and knowing you are connected to all that you can perceive.
You begin to absorb the sun's energy,
Filling you with warmth.
A gentle breeze begins to blow,
Cooling your skin.
The sand beneath your feet,
You can push your toes into it and make patterns with your feet.
Remember you are connected to all you can perceive.
Allow your awareness to weave into the sand,
To float amongst the breeze,
To expand with the sun.
Notice the attitude of the sea,
The movements of the waves.
What sounds come to you?
Travelling through the air and space to reach you.
Take this time to paint your picture of these sandy shores.
Trust in your awareness.
Allow this inner guidance to carry you as you walk along these sandy shores.
Explore,
Interact and draw all your focus to these moments of pure awareness,
Surrounded by the same elements that circle inside of you.
And as time passes here on these sandy shores and day turns to night,
The sun sets into the ocean and the moon rises as though it was there all along.
You remain absorbed and fully present in all of the beauty that unfolds around you.
Embrace this moment as the creator of your own happiness.
The moon starts to descend and with a final glimpse of the night,
The sun's rays begin to greet you once more.
And with a wave of light that washes over you,
You find your connection once again with the awareness that resides inside of you.
And once again allow this awareness to expand through the whole body,
The sounds around you.
And either together or mentally,
We recite the mantra Om three times.
When you feel ready,
You can open the eyes.
