Hi,
I'm Kristen,
And today I'm going to guide you through a self-cleansing meditation that is in perfect alignment with the season of fall.
Just like the seasons of nature,
We too have seasons in our life.
In autumn,
Nature performs its biggest release of the year,
Shedding away all that is no longer relevant or purposeful for its survival.
This release allows for a time of reflection and dormancy,
Conservation,
So that things can be reborn and renewed in the spring.
Too often we cling to things that are no longer serving us,
Resistant to truly releasing and letting go.
For this meditation,
I will take you along the path of shedding away your own leaves and letting go of all that is inhibiting your renewal and growth.
For this meditation,
I want you to be lying down in a comfortable position where you can lay completely still for the duration of the meditation.
So take your time now to gather any cozy blankets,
Supported pillows,
Or extra clothing that you may need to be fully settled in and to completely separate from the outside world.
To help further prepare your body for deep relaxation,
I want you to squeeze all the muscles in your body and face.
Squeeze and tighten your whole body and then completely let yourself relax.
Do any last-minute movements so that you can allow yourself to become completely still.
Make sure to place your palms in a face-up position towards the sky.
Tuning into your breath,
Notice the pattern of your breathing and start to gently slow it down.
Feeling the ground beneath you,
I want you to take a deep inhalation breath from your belly and then release a sweeping cleansing exhale out of your mouth.
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Allow yourself to inhale as if you were pulling up the grounding energy from the earth and allowing it to enrich and then sweeping through you with your exhales,
Clearing out any stale or stagnant energy.
Take a few cycles at your own pace,
Feeling yourself against the earth and grounding into your body through breath.
Grounding further into your body,
Become aware of the backside of your body and how it sinks and dissolves into the ground below you,
Becoming heavy.
Allow yourself to completely surrender and dissolve into the ground below you.
Scanning the body for any areas of holding,
Control or tension.
Feel into those areas and continue to relax and let go.
Right foot,
Left foot dissolve away.
Right leg,
Left leg.
Hips,
Letting go,
Letting go,
Letting go.
Deeper and deeper into relaxation,
Deeper and deeper into surrender,
Letting go.
Pelvis,
Spine,
Sacrum,
Lumbar,
Thoracic,
Cervical.
Release its need to support you at this time.
Right hand,
Left hand.
Release any gripping and open to receive.
Releasing,
Letting go.
Right arm,
Left arm.
Heavy,
Dissolving,
Letting go.
Right shoulder,
Left shoulder,
Heavy.
Abdomen rising and falling,
Releasing away.
Lungs,
Chest,
Expanding and contracting gently,
Easily with flow.
Throat open and clear,
Flowing.
Face relaxes,
Jaw and clenches,
Lips relaxed soft.
Forehead softens and eyes sink to the back of your head.
In this state of full body relaxation,
We will begin our journey.
I want you to picture yourself walking along the forest floor,
The most beautiful forest floor you can imagine.
The synergistic combination of cool autumn air and golden light rays of the sun beaming down through the trees provide a comforting warmth and energy that you feel in your whole body.
Along your path,
You come to a beautiful old tree adorned with leaves the color of fire that are preparing themselves for release.
You turn to lie your back against the tree,
Allowing yourself to become one with it.
Fusing into the tree,
Feel into the grounded and solid parts of yourself.
Roots grounding down from your feet,
Anchoring you.
Your bones and muscles making up the structure of the tree.
Your blood,
The lifeline of sap.
There are integral parts of herself that make up the foundation of who you are and are solid,
Pure and true.
Allow the trunk and body of the tree to represent these elements.
Feel your strength,
Your energy,
Your power,
Your internal compass of knowing what is exactly right for you.
You've come here to let go.
Each golden leaf that you're adorned with representing something that is no longer serving you.
You are ready to be released.
What are you ready to let go of?
Is there anything that is currently no longer fueling you but instead draining you?
Let each leaf represent something you're ready to release.
Whether it be a habit that is not healthy for your body,
A limiting belief,
A person in your life,
Stories you're telling yourself that are keeping you stuck,
Fear of future outcomes.
Whatever it is for you,
Allow it to let go now.
Allow yourself to completely release and let go.
Shedding all the outworn leaves of yourself,
See them falling away in a rain of red,
Gold,
Yellow and burnt orange,
Separating from you,
No longer attached.
You are now free.
Feel into the weightlessness of your soul,
Your spirit.
In this cleansed state,
You can now take the needed time for rest and reflection that the next season of winter will bring.
Give yourself time to restore and to dream up and consider what you want to create new for yourself.
Rest after cleansing is essential and vital to your future growth.
Give yourself this gift of having a clean palate and simply allow yourself to sink into the core of who you are.
Just like the trunk of the tree,
Trust that your new growth will come to you at just the right time.
In closing,
A quote from Virginia Woolf,
And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be are full of trees and changing leaves.
I will now count backwards from five,
Sealing your autumn self-cleansing meditation and preparing you to enter back into your life cleansed and ready for restoration.
Five,
Continue to allow release to occur all through this season and look for any last hidden leaves that still may be hanging waiting for your permission to let them go.
Four,
Be gentle and kind to yourself and allow any emotions that may arise after the self-cleansing meditation to simply wash through you and know they are part of the process.
Three,
Know that regardless of the season you can shed and release outworn parts of yourself at any time you feel is needed.
Check in regularly with yourself and allow your inner compass to guide you.
Trust.
Two,
Start to become aware of your breathing and the sensations of your body.
Allow your body to make tiny movements,
Circle your feet,
Open and close your hands.
One,
When you are ready open your eyes and slowly come to a seated position and place your hands on your heart.
You are brave,
Strong and already encompass all that is needed for healing yourself.
Continue to allow yourself to shed,
Rest and then grow again.
It has been my honor to guide you along this autumn self-cleansing meditation.
Know that I'm sending you light and love and I wish you a beautiful rest of the season.
