Good evening,

I'm Kristen and tonight I'm going to lead you on a self-cleansing evening meditation.

It is so important before we rest at night to take stock of our day and let go of anything that still feels mentally sticky or emotionally heavy.

You will truly rest more deeply and soundly if you can cleanse these elements away and ground into a feeling of peace and calm before bed.

To get started,

Make sure you're comfortable and in a space where you can relax.

I suggest lying down in a comfortable,

Supported position to allow your body to be able to let go.

However,

If you have any physical limitations,

Just allow yourself to get in a position that allows you to relax and be comfortable.

To help further prepare your body for deep relaxation,

I want you to squeeze all the muscles in your body and face.

Squeeze and tighten your whole body and then let yourself completely relax.

Make any last-minute adjustments or movements so that you can allow yourself to become completely still and settle in.

Becoming aware of your breath now,

I want you to start to slow down your inhalations and exhalations at your own pace,

Inviting calm to your body.

With each inhale,

Picture a gentle wave of water starting to flow up through your feet,

Infusing into your whole body.

As you exhale,

Feel the water wash out of you,

Clearing out the energetic debris from the day.

Take a few cycles of breath on your own,

Picturing this gentle wave flowing in with your inhalations and releasing and washing out on your exhalations.

Allow your whole body to completely let go,

Letting any areas of holding,

Control,

Or tension simply wash away.

Feel into your body for any area that still feels tense and tight and picture the gentle cleansing wave of water move into those areas of your body and washing the tension away.

See yourself floating now with ease on the surface of a healing body of water,

Safe,

Secure,

Supported.

Moving into your heart space,

Is there anything left over from the day that still feels emotionally heavy?

Just for right now,

Tonight,

Be willing to let that emotion go.

Let the healing waters that are holding you gently wash over you,

Soothing you and cleansing your heart of its pain,

Worry,

Or fear,

So that you can rest with peace and ease.

Moving into your mind,

Allow all the muscles of your face to relax,

Eyes to sink in,

Jaw to unclench,

Forehead to soften,

Tongue to release from the top of your mouth,

Lips to relax,

Feel a weightlessness to your head.

The healing body of water that is supporting you has come upon a gentle waterfall.

As you float up to the base,

Water begins to softly and lightly flow over the top of your head.

Whatever thoughts from your day that are still feeling sticky and consuming,

Allow them to be washed away here.

At this ending point of your day,

There is nothing more to decide,

Nothing more to solve,

To accomplish,

To plan.

There are no situations from your day that are worth running over and over in your mind at this time.

File it away for tomorrow when you're fresh and rested.

Let your mind now be cleared and cleansed.

See the gentle flow from the waterfall washing it all away.

By washing away your day during this meditation tonight,

You have gifted your future self a more restored and rejuvenated tomorrow.

In closing,

A quote from Leonardo da Vinci.

In rivers,

The water that you touch is the last of what has passed and the first of that which comes,

So with present time.

I will now count backwards from five,

Sealing your cleansing evening meditation and preparing you to settle and to rest.

Five,

You are cleansed and cleared of your day.

Continue to leave all behind after this meditation is completed.

Four,

May you slip into rest peacefully and calmly with your eyelids heavier than the concerns of your mind.

Three,

Know that your current state of lightness and calm is available to you always.

Two,

Start to become aware of your breathing now,

Keeping a slow and gentle rhythm.

One,

You are now ready to move into the ending of your day and to fully prepare for rest.

It has been my honor guiding you tonight in this cleansing evening meditation.

I'm sending you love and light and I wish you a peaceful and deep night's rest.
