I am Kristen and I'm so glad you're taking this time to pause in your day to tend to yourself.
Today I'm going to be guiding you along in midday restorative meditation.
In this brief amount of time you will realign and reset yourself so that you can finish your day with energy,
Clarity,
And ease.
Start by getting comfortable wherever you are,
Seated or lying down,
And allow your body to sink and settle into where it's being supported.
As you're settling in,
Just bringing attention to the jaw,
Noticing if it's holding and just allow it to loosen,
Noticing the shoulders and just letting them melt away down from the ears,
And just softening through the chest and the area around your heart,
Releasing any bracing or gripping through the belly,
And just release and relax your lower back,
Your hips,
Legs,
And feet,
Letting the whole body just come to a nice and restorative posture,
Allowing the outside world to melt away,
Tune into your breath.
At this midpoint of your day,
Notice where you feel your breath the strongest,
Perhaps the nostrils,
The chest,
Or the belly.
Start to slow down the rhythm of your breathing with a cycle of deep inhalations through your nose and long exhalations out of your mouth,
Taking this at your own pace and timing and allow your breath to start to ease.
Settling into a natural breath rhythm now,
Turn the focus to your body.
Are there any areas of holding,
Control,
Or tension that need to be released?
Imagine the breath moving into those areas now,
Gently creating space and allowing ease in.
Let each breath be a healing wave of relaxation flowing through you and washing away the day so far.
From this relaxed tone within the body,
Let yourself release what you've been carrying today,
Anything heavy,
Lingering,
Or unnecessary.
Inviting any fears,
Worries,
Or self-limiting beliefs to soften and be released,
Allowing them to be held by something steady and supportive beyond you.
Trusting that they no longer need to be carried,
Making space for restoration within you.
Regardless of how your day has gone,
You now have the opportunity to hit the reset button and start anew.
What do you want to bring to the rest of your day?
How do you want to feel?
Take a moment to notice what in the second half of your day most needs tending.
Is it inside you,
Your body,
Mind,
Or heart,
Or in the space around you at work or at home?
Picture yourself having the energy,
Clarity,
And ease to all that you do for the rest of today.
Now bring to mind one part of your day so far that you feel gratitude for.
Trust the first thing that naturally arises in your heart,
Letting the warmth of gratitude nourish you as you move back out into your day.
As we come to the close of this midday pause,
A quote from Tara Brock,
".
.
.
Stepping out of the busyness,
Stopping our endless pursuit of getting somewhere else,
Is perhaps the most beautiful offering we can make to our spirit.
" Gently bring your awareness back to the body,
Noticing the breath and the weight of your body being supported,
And the space that you have created within yourself.
Know that the sense of calm,
Clarity,
And ease is yours to carry with you as you move through the rest of your day.
When you're ready,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Stretch gently if it feels good,
And softly open your eyes,
Bringing the sense of reset and restoration into the afternoon ahead.
Thank yourself for taking this pause to help to restore you and reset the rest of your day.
It's been my honor guiding you along this midday restorative meditation,
And I'm wishing you continued ease,
Clarity,
And steadiness as you move through the rest of your day.
Namaste
