Hi,
My name is Heather Hemmer,
And this is your morning gratitude meditation.
Let's begin this day,
Not by chasing what's missing,
But by standing in all that is already here.
We'll start by finding an easy,
Comfortable position.
And take this moment to simply arrive.
Let yourself find a shape that feels steady and easy.
Let your hands rest wherever they naturally fall.
And if it feels okay,
Gently allow your eyelids to close or soften your gaze.
The edges of your eyes melt.
Your jaw is slightly open.
And on your next exhale,
Allow your shoulders to soften down your back.
Take a slow,
Full breath in through your nose.
And a slow,
Complete breath out through your mouth.
And let's do that again.
Inhale,
Filling up your belly,
Your chest.
And exhale,
Softening even more into the moment.
Begin to notice how the breath meets the body.
Notice where it moves.
Maybe that's the chest,
The belly,
Or the ribs.
There's no need to change anything.
Just allowing yourself to breathe and simply be.
With every breath,
Feel yourself dropping a little deeper,
A little closer to yourself,
A little closer to this quiet beginning.
And as you continue breathing,
Imagine your body as a landscape,
Still and alive,
At the same time.
The ground beneath you is steady,
The breath moving through you like a soft breeze.
Nothing to push,
Nothing to perfect,
Just the quiet movement of life happening in you and all around you.
Breathe in and feel the space you take up.
Breathe out and feel the space around you soften.
This is the beginning of a new day,
A brand new chapter,
A brand new chapter,
Unwritten,
Unfolding.
And you,
Exactly as you are right now,
Are enough to meet it.
You don't need to change a thing.
You simply need to breathe into it.
I invite you to slowly,
Gently turn your awareness to what is good,
What is great in your life right now.
Think about what is quietly carrying you forward,
Even when you don't always notice.
Maybe it's the steadiness of your breath,
The resilience of your heart,
The people who love you,
Or something incredibly simple that grounds you.
Whatever your mind settles on,
Breathe into that.
Let it land fully in your body,
Not as a thought,
But as a feeling.
And then allow that feeling to grow stronger.
Gratitude doesn't ask us to pretend everything is perfect.
It simply asks us to notice what is already enough,
What is already here,
What is already good.
Allow yourself to breathe that in.
Let yourself feel how full you already are.
And from that place of growing gratitude,
Take a few longer,
Slower breaths in and out.
Feel the way your body carries this energy,
The way your breath holds it gently without needing to force it.
And imagine how your day will be different as you welcome it with the energy of appreciation,
Letting gratitude be your guiding force in everything you do today.
Breathe in to that feeling of gratitude.
And slowly bring your awareness back into your body,
Noticing the space around you,
The space beneath you,
Beginning to wiggle your toes and allow that energy to move upwards into the air.
Into the legs,
The hips,
The torso,
Across your shoulders,
Down the arms,
And into your hands.
Maybe a gentle stretch or yawn.
And then with your attention behind your still closed eyes,
A soft smile across your face,
Gratitude for this moment of stillness.
On your next exhale,
Allow your eyes to slowly open.
Let the light return softly.
And before you step back into your day,
I invite you to take a moment to write down one or two things you feel grateful for right now.
They might be small,
They might be simple,
They might even surprise you.
Sending you off with love and light until next time.
This is Heather Hemmer.
