Welcome to your daily grounding practice.
Please find a comfortable seat.
Let your shoulders drop down away from the ears.
Have the crown of the head reaching up towards the sky creating length through the spine.
Take a moment to feel the support of the chair or the ground beneath you.
When you feel ready take a nice big inhale in through the nose,
Fill up the lungs,
Allow the belly to expand and with your exhale open your mouth,
Sigh it out,
Feeling your muscles relaxing down as you do.
Take two more breaths like this long slow steady inhale and a sighing exhale.
When you're ready drop any control of the breath and take your awareness down to the base of your spine,
The space at the pelvic floor.
This is our first major energy center,
Muladhara chakra or root chakra.
This energy center relates to our basic needs,
Safety,
Security,
Stability.
Begin to imagine the red color of Muladhara chakra beginning to shine at the base of your spine.
Now begin to imagine beautiful thick red roots growing down from the base of your spine.
Imagine them moving down through the floor or the ground beneath you,
Through the soil,
Through layers of earth,
Stone,
Rock,
Traveling deeper all the way to the very center of the earth.
When you reach the earth's core imagine your roots wrapping securely around it three times.
Pause here for a breath.
Now begin to imagine breathing through these roots.
As you inhale imagine drawing fresh nourishing prana life force energy up from the center of the earth.
Warm steady life-giving energy rising up through that root system into the base of your spine,
Muladhara chakra.
Each inhale feeding and strengthening that root chakra,
Expanding the red color,
Intensifying the vibrance of the red,
Promoting stability,
Grounded presence.
As you exhale allow anything stuck,
Heavy,
Stagnant or no longer needed to flow back down that root system effortlessly.
Mother Earth knows how to compost,
To reintegrate,
Recycle that energy that is no longer serving you.
Inhaling fresh energy up from the center of the earth and exhaling to release whatever you no longer need throughout your physical body,
All of your cells,
Your energetic body.
Let it all flow down through the roots to be recycled in the core of the earth.
Long smooth steady breaths.
Feel yourself inhaling nourishment,
Steadiness,
Security,
Vitality and exhaling tension,
Fear,
Excess energy,
Other people's energy,
Anything that does not serve your greatest and highest good.
Breathe it out.
Just taking three more breaths staying with this root system connected to Mother Earth and your Muladhara base chakra.
Allow the visualization to soften when you're ready.
Bring awareness back to your entire body.
Notice the contact points between you and the seat or the ground beneath you.
Take one long slow deep inhale.
Open the mouth to sigh it out.
When you're ready blink your eyes open.
Carry this grounded presence into the rest of your day.
Thank you for your practice.
With so much love,
Namaste.
