This is the final practice in a series exploring the foundations of mindfulness, inspired by the Buddha’s teachings in the Satipatthana Sutta. In this meditation, we journey through the foundations, moving through awareness of the body, the body as parts and elements, feeling tone, mental states, hindrances, and awakening factors. Each offers a different perspective through which we can explore our experience and recognise the patterns that shape our thoughts, feelings, and responses. As we move through these different layers of experience, we cultivate greater sensitivity, clarity, and insight. The practice invites us to notice what is present, how it changes, and the conditions that influence it, opening up a deeper understanding of our experience and greater freedom in how we relate to it.
