Hi,
My name is Reverend Karima and this is a practice,
A prayer,
A talk.
It's basically everything rolled into one.
So first let me tell you a little bit more about this track.
It's a track you can do with your eyes open and you can also choose to do it with your eyes closed.
It's a track that I decided to create when I was listening to another teacher's track here on Inside Timer.
One of my favorite mantras are um shanti um and it's becoming more and more important to me as the day goes by because right now we see all of the suffering in the news.
We hear about people who are sick,
Who have lost loved ones,
Or passed away.
And very often it gets too intense for us so we numb out,
We scroll past,
We shake it off,
We think,
Oh at least it didn't happen to me.
And that's the key,
The word at least.
I call it the word of silver lining.
If anyone has lost someone,
You know how painful it is to hear at least it could have been worse or at least you still have dot dot dot.
Because when it comes to grief we often try to find the silver lining not so much to comfort the one who grieves but to comfort ourselves because we don't know what to say.
And this thought has been with me for a couple of days now.
We cannot help who is elected in the world.
We don't have that much power.
Yes we can vote,
I agree.
But what we can do is be the light,
Be the light worker.
And a light worker also dares to look at their own shadow because without light there is no darkness and without darkness there is no light.
So I want to invite you to practice right now where you choose an area,
Can be a country,
Can be a city,
Can be a neighborhood,
Can be a hospital,
A school,
Kindergarten,
Club.
You pick one.
And we start by saying this peace prayer and don't don't worry you will not know a lot of the words because the prayer is for my own.
So I'm going to start with an invocation by toward the one,
The perfection of love,
Harmony and beauty.
The only being united with all the illuminated souls who form the embodiment of the master,
The spirit of guidance.
Oh the Lord,
The divine creator,
We come before you today.
We are distraught.
We feel helpless.
We are the sunbeams and you are the sun.
We ask you to pour upon us thy love and thy light,
Thy knowledge and thy beauty.
We worship thee in every single form.
Sometimes we call you you.
Sometimes we are more formal and call you thee.
No matter what we know that you are listening to us.
We ask that you bring peace to people who are in turmoil.
We ask that you bring presence to people who feel lost.
We ask that you bring kindness and comfort to those who need it.
And we ask that you help us become a messenger of light and hope for the world.
No,
We don't claim to be a prophet.
We don't claim to be a holy being.
We are a being created by you.
But let us be a service where we can.
Let us help those who need our help.
Help us find opportunities to be of help where we have never thought of it possible.
Thank you and amen.
After this prayer,
Let's just sit together here at Insight Timer and just say the mantra Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti If you feel like reaching out to me with a comment or suggestion,
You are more than welcome to do that through my messages.
Thank you again and may the divine bless you always.
