You can allow your eyes to close now,
Or simply soften your gaze,
And as you settle into this space,
You might notice the weight of your body,
Perhaps noticing which parts of you feel heavy,
And which parts feel light.
There is no need to try to relax,
Because your body already knows how to breathe without your permission,
And as you breathe,
You can wonder which breath will be the one that lets you release the tension in your shoulders.
Will it be this one,
Or the next?
Every inhale is a new piece of information,
Every exhale is letting go of an old story.
If your mind offers you a thought about your health,
Just observe it like a passing cloud,
A weather pattern that isn't the sky itself.
You are the sky,
The clouds are just moving through.
As you go deeper now,
Your subconscious mind can begin to scan the body,
Not with the critical eye of worry,
But with the curious eye of a gardener.
Your body is a vast,
Quiet intelligence,
It manages millions of processes,
Heartbeats,
Cellular repair,
Digestion,
All while you sleep,
All while you dream.
You don't have to manage it,
You can trust that the same intelligence that grew you from a single cell knows exactly how to maintain the balance.
Imagine now a soft,
Amber light beginning at the soles of your feet.
This isn't just light,
It's a restorative presence.
As it moves up through your ankles,
Calves,
Knees,
It carries a message to every single cell.
You are doing your job,
You are allowed to be at peace,
If you feel a sensation,
A throb,
A tightness.
Instead of asking,
What's wrong?
Try asking,
What does this mean?
Perhaps it just needs to be noticed and then let go.
As the amber light washes over it,
Smoothing out the edges of the thought.
I'd like you to imagine you are standing at the edge of a great,
Ancient forest.
The air here is perfectly balanced,
Oxygen rich,
Easy to breathe.
In this forest,
There is a tree that represents your physical health.
You might have been looking at it through a magnifying glass,
Focusing on a single spot on a leaf,
Forgetting the strength of the trunk and the depth of its roots.
Walk towards that tree,
Notice its resilience.
It has weathered seasons,
It has bent in the wind and it has always returned to centre.
And as you stand by this tree,
You can feel your own roots growing,
Grounding you into the earth.
You are safe in this moment,
In this moment,
Your heart is beating,
Your lungs,
They are expanding.
You are alive,
And because you are alive,
You are successful.
Let yourself become one with the emotions of that tree,
Clearing away the dust of what ifs,
Leaving only the clarity of what is.
You are here,
And you are whole.
In a moment,
Not quite,
You will bring this sense of sovereignty back with you.
You can take a deep,
Nourishing breath,
Feeling the energy return to your fingers and to your toes,
You may find that over the next few hours or days,
Your mind feels a little quieter,
A little more spacious,
As if you've cleared out an old room and let the fresh air in.
Your body is your partner,
It is not your enemy.
You can trust the process of your own life.
On the count of three,
Eyes open,
Fully present,
Feeling calm and capable.
One,
Coming back to the room.
Two,
Feeling refreshed and grounded.
Three,
Wide awake.
