Let's begin.
Take a deep breath in and a full breath out.
Do that a few more times,
Sighing the exhale and letting go of anything that you're holding on to.
Focus on the present moment.
You chose to be here,
So be here now.
Take a deep breath in and a full breath out.
In this meditation,
We'll use our imagination.
So it might be best to close your eyes if you're comfortable with that.
Have a tall spine,
Perhaps you're laying down even.
Relax your shoulders,
Relax your jaw.
Now continue to breathe,
Letting the breath be natural.
With each inhale,
Start to feel your limbs become more and more weightless,
As if with every inhale,
The air you take in fills you up like a balloon.
Imagine,
After a few breaths and lots of air,
You are so light that you start to float and hover above the ground,
Drifting in the air like a lost feather.
The wind blows gently and it lifts you up into the air.
Higher and higher with each inhale,
You move up past the trees and you can look down to see the green canopy they make.
Inhale deeply again,
And you start flying up higher and higher into the sky.
You see white puffy clouds around you,
And with one more deep inhale,
You float right through them.
They dissipate around you,
And your skin tingles from the water as it evaporates onto your skin.
Another deep inhale,
And you keep moving up higher and higher like there is no gravity.
You are past the clouds now,
And you continue to move further into the atmosphere.
You are now resting among the stars.
Around you is complete darkness,
Until you notice the brightness of stars all around you in space.
You hover in this space,
And you can look down and see the earth as a round globe.
You see the green and the blue of the ground and the waters.
Take a few more deep breaths here,
Savoring the sight.
And now you realize you have been given the power to choose where you want to return to on earth.
You get to decide where and how you will land.
You know that you get to go anywhere in the entire world.
You can choose to land somewhere you've been before,
Or someplace you've never been.
You can find yourself on land or underwater.
You can land in a known or an unknown place.
This choice is entirely yours.
Once your decision is made,
Take a deep breath in,
And exhale out very slowly.
As you do so,
You start to lose some of that air that kept you floating.
You start to drift softly back down toward the earth.
With each exhale,
You move further away from the darkness and closer to the light of the earth.
You start to drift down through those same white puffy clouds.
They shift around you as you pass through.
Taking another big exhale,
You start to get closer to your landing spot.
Notice,
Where are you going?
As you breathe and let go of the air in your lungs,
Letting go of anything that you've been holding on to,
Anything that's been holding you back,
You fall gently,
Softly,
Down to where you want to land.
So notice,
Where are you?
What colors do you see?
What does it smell like?
After another inhale and big exhale,
You get closer and closer to where you want to land.
Finally,
With one more long inhale and even longer exhale,
You land smoothly and exactly where you are meant to be.
Picture it fully.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
Are you alone or are there others with you?
How do you feel being here in this place?
What are you doing there in this place that you've chosen?
What is your purpose there?
What is your purpose there?
What is your purpose?
Take another deep breath in and full breath out.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes,
Bringing yourself back to this present moment,
And maybe you take out that journal and you start to write about anything that you just experienced.
In particular,
With a visualization meditation like this,
Our mind,
Our imagination can take us to all kinds of places.
So start to write where you went,
Where you chose to land,
And everything you experienced when you landed there.
What were the colors?
What did it smell like?
What did you hear?
What did you see?
Who was with you?
And how did you feel?
And as you're writing down all of the things you experienced,
Try to focus on that last question of the meditation.
What is your purpose there?
What is your purpose?
Sometimes when I'm journaling big questions like this,
I'll write it out as a statement.
My purpose is.
.
.
And then I finish that sentence wherever,
However I may.
And then I'll write it again.
My purpose is.
.
.
And I'll come up with a different answer.
And I'll see how many different things I can come up with.
Usually it's not just one thing.
There could be many.
Allow your imagination to continue to take you on this journey within the journaling process.
Take as much time as you need.
And whenever you're done,
Make sure to take one more big deep breath.
.
.
And big exhale.
.
.
As you finish your meditation.
Thank you.
