Year Of The Fire Horse: Moving With Awareness

So let's begin by settling into the body,

Feeling the simple act of being here.

The weight of the body supported,

The steadiness of the ground beneath you.

Let the breath be natural,

No need to slow it down or deepen it,

Simply noticing the breath as it moves in and as it moves out.

Bring your attention now to the center of the chest.

Notice whatever sensations are present there.

Perhaps a warmth,

A pressure,

An openness,

A more neutral sensation.

And now imagining a steady flame in this space.

Not wild,

Not consuming,

Not flickering,

But a steady flame from a fire that knows how to give light without burning everything around it.

This fire element represents your life energy,

Already here,

Already moving.

Notice how this energy shows up in your experience.

In a fire horse year,

Energy tends to rise.

The fire horse teaches us this,

That without presence,

Fire becomes reactivity.

Without grounding,

Movement becomes escape.

But when awareness and energy move together,

We experience integrity.

Noticing that balance in your own body between aliveness and steadiness.

Noticing how the body has many parts that are in motion,

The blood,

The breath,

And how the body is also at rest,

Your stillness,

Your bones.

This is the gift,

The gift of the fire horse,

That balance between aliveness and steadiness.

Here we listen to the body,

We listen to sensations,

We listen to our own quiet knowing.

Let yourself rest in that listening for a few breaths.

Sense the possibility of carrying these qualities forward.
