Heal your inner child.
Somatic meditation for deep emotional safety and trust.
Hello lovely,
Welcome home.
That's how it feels for me today recording.
I am seated on a meditation cushion.
And the sun is rising.
It is that mix where I can see stars,
But I can hear morning birds.
This meditation is suitable for Sleep.
At night,
During the day or when you wake in the morning.
I am recording this in the very early morning.
This is a safe space,
Your safe harbour,
If you will.
Take a moment to arrive to land here.
To rest easily.
Allow yourself to come into this space at a pace that suits you.
Find a position where your body can feel completely supported.
You might choose to lie down or perhaps sit yourself down.
It's your choice.
When you're ready,
We'll start.
Sit down or lie down comfortably and when you are ready.
Allow your eyes to close.
Soften your eyelids.
All you have to do is listen.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Sink into the surface beneath you.
Imagine that surface.
As part of the Earth.
See yourself.
As part of the Earth.
Feel the Support.
Quiet,
Patient and strong.
Willing to hold the full weight of you exactly.
As you arrive today in this moment.
Let your shoulders drop a little.
Soften your jaw a little.
Let your belly be just a little softer.
Than it is right now.
You don't have to be perfect.
Arrive as you arrive now.
You don't have to hold everything together right now.
You don't have to have the answers.
For these next several moments,
Several minutes,
It is completely OK.
To let yourself feel supported.
And to turn up as you are.
Breathe.
Notice the way you breathe.
Without attachment,
Without judgment.
Our passion of breathing reflects.
How we truly are in that moment.
And that is okay.
Be the radar.
Of the narrative of your breath.
Listen to the pattern of your breathing.
And learn.
About yourself.
If… You choose to do so,
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And easy.
Easy breath.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Through your mouth.
Unforced,
Uncluttered.
Without any performative element.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
There is nowhere,
Nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing else you need to perform.
You are welcome here.
You are welcome exactly as you are right now.
The somatic check-in.
Now we're going to gently check in with your nervous system.
Not fix anything or correct anything.
Simply notice.
Begin by bringing awareness to your chest.
Is there any tightness?
Is there any heaviness?
Right now,
It's not necessary to name anything.
Just gently notice.
How does your body feel?
Is there any tension?
Simply notice.
Be the student of your body.
Move your awareness down into your belly.
Perhaps,
Just perhaps,
There is slight tension.
Maybe a little numbness.
Just notice.
Whatever you feel.
Whatever you feel is okay.
Notice.
Notice any possible tension in any area.
This sensation or these sensations are simply signals,
Messages.
Micro triggers if you will.
Reminding you of your day or previous days.
Or possibly previous wakes.
Parts of your story.
Parts of your story which you are holding on to.
Some of these parts may bring you joy.
Some of these parts may not.
This is not proof that you are a certain person.
This is not proof of who you will be in the future.
This is simply what your body is holding on to.
This is your body's way of protecting you.
Mindfully,
Silently invite your body to let go.
You do not have to be your stories.
Be mindful,
Your body holds onto stories,
Narratives,
In order to protect you.
In order to help you survive.
Sometimes.
Sometimes.
The best choice is to release a story.
To let it go.
Like releasing leaves into a stream or releasing a dove into the air.
Sometimes.
We gently let a story go.
By being aware of where narratives are held in the body.
This is one of the sacred steps in healing.
In releasing your stories and memories.
In getting in touch,
Getting to know your inner child.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Breathe into those areas.
Those areas of your body that are holding on.
Holding on to a memory,
An experience,
Or part of your story.
Breathe into those parts of your body and gently Gently give your body sacred permission to release.
You are not your stories.
Imagine your breath now as a soft,
Warm,
Golden light.
As you breathe in,
Visualize this warm light flowing into the tightness of your body.
In your body.
Moving to the various corners of your body.
Where you hold on to,
Where you attach,
Where you internalize memory.
Soften these areas.
Soften these areas patiently.
Kindly.
With compassion.
It's okay.
Feel kindness towards your body.
Your body holds on to memories.
To protect you.
Feel grateful,
Grateful for your body's ability to hold on to memory.
Save your body kindly.
Thank you.
Thank you for protecting me.
It is okay.
It is okay to let go.
Move through your entire body slowly.
Breathe in to parts of your body with the golden light and release.
With release comes healing.
You are patient.
You allow the process to take time.
Nothing needs to be pushed.
Nothing needs spayed.
It is what it is,
And that's okay.
You are simply inviting a tiny bit more space,
Sacred space.
Space in which you can be your true authentic self.
Away from memory.
A tiny bit more room to breathe,
Breathe your authentic breath,
Breathe your authentic self.
You are not what others say you are.
You are not the judgment of others.
When we listen to the opinion of others.
When we listen to the judgment of others.
We let go of our true.
Authentic.
Self.
Sit in this sacred space and see yourself.
See yourself.
Notice any small shifts.
A little bit more space here or there in your body.
A softness.
Notice.
Maybe it's just the comfort of being here with yourself.
With intention.
With the intention to be yourself.
Heal yourself and get to know your inner child.
Breathe,
Release,
Let go,
Soften your body.
Soften your body,
Head to toe,
Arms,
Legs,
Feet,
Hands.
The inner child somatic reparenting.
Now,
If it feels okay for you.
For who you are today in this moment.
Imagine a younger version of yourself.
Sitting somewhere.
Somewhere nearby.
See this child.
Imagine this child.
This is a safe process.
Imagine.
Say.
This younger version of you might be seated on the floor on a mat.
Or seated on a couch.
Or standing.
By a window.
There is no right way to be right now.
This is for you to imagine.
Recognise this child.
What does this child look like?
How old is this child?
What expression is on the face of this child?
What emotion do you sense in this child's body?
This is a safe experience.
Everything is okay.
You may recognise an old pattern.
You may feel a sense of being stuck in this old pattern.
Perhaps there is a little bit of fear.
Look down upon the fear.
With wisdom.
With perspective.
The inner child has learned the fear.
Because of a memory.
An experience in the past.
Whisper to the child.
Say to the child,
It is okay.
Everything is okay.
Everything will turn out okay.
Let go of that memory.
That memory does not define you.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Watch that child.
Witness that child heal.
Release that learned pattern.
Release that memory.
We store memories in order to protect ourselves.
To learn how to protect ourselves.
Sometimes holding on to a memory serves no ongoing purpose.
Purpose.
Say to the child kindly,
It's time to let go.
We are okay now.
We are safe now.
If you feel comfortable doing so.
Walk over to that child.
And reach out with your hand.
And white.
When that child is ready.
That child will reach out to you.
Wait patiently,
With patience,
With acceptance.
Allow time to pass,
Relax,
Release your body.
If you feel comfortable doing so.
Say to the child,
Say to yourself,
You are safe enough right now.
We are safe enough right now.
Say to your child.
We are safe enough right now.
We are safe enough right now.
Notice how your body feels.
Notice how your body responds.
Notice every subtlety.
Repeat this truth a few times in your mind.
We are safe enough right now.
Safe enough is enough.
Relax,
Release your body.
When you already imagine that you are standing now in a different place.
You are standing in a clearing.
In a forest.
The sun is out.
You look up for a moment and the sun rises.
Casts down its rays upon your face.
You feel warm.
You feel comfortable.
You stand calmly grounded with your palms out.
You say to yourself,
I don't need a perfect plan to move forward.
I don't need a perfect plan to move forward.
I don't need a perfect plan to move forward.
You feel the sun upon your face.
You feel a sense of deep healing.
Let these words move slowly through your whole body,
Not just your mind.
Not just your soul.
Not just your spirit.
Through your body.
Feel how these words land in your chest.
In your belly.
In your back.
In your shoulders.
Around your face.
I don't need a perfect plan to move forward.
Feel a slight softening.
Feel a sense of Maybe,
Just maybe,
It's okay not to have it all worked out right now.
Choose with intention.
To lift one Log.
Within this visualization,
In this clearing,
And take one step with intention.
Relax,
Release your body One step,
Just one step.
That's all you need to do.
Take one step with intention.
Mindfully in the present moment.
Stay here for several breaths.
Noticing the step.
You can do this.
You can take one step.
Notice the step,
Experience the step.
Say to yourself,
Mindfully,
I can take one step.
I don't have to rush.
I can take one step at a time.
In my own time.
Now imagine.
Your inner child.
You are both your adult self,
Your present self,
And your inner child.
You are one.
Have a sense of being one.
A union.
A combination of the past and the present.
You are one.
Say to yourself.
Silently.
We are here now.
We don't have to rush.
We can go gently,
Kindly,
With intention.
We can take one step.
Just one step.
Slowly imagine yourself taking one intentional step at a time.
Slowly.
Slowly.
Somatic release and reset.
We are going to leave now the visualisation of the clearing in the forest.
We are going to invite the body to release.
Release some of that attachment,
Release some of that energy.
Release some of that stickiness.
Our bodies need to hold.
Our bodies need to have life a certain way.
We are going to let go of some energy.
Not all energy,
Some energy.
Sometimes tension,
Stress is simply energy.
Sometimes it's pertinent that we let it go.
Release energy,
Tension in your feet.
Legs.
Hips.
Arms.
Hands.
Gently.
The energy of attachment.
The energy of needing life a certain way.
The energy of the words,
What if.
The energy of the words,
It should be a certain way.
The energy of the words,
If only.
Invite the energy of the words,
It is okay as it is right now.
See energy as something that can flow.
Can flow like the waters in a beautiful,
Beautiful stream.
Imagine that stream.
See the flow.
Imagine the sounds of the stream.
Notice water finds its own level and flows around sticks,
Stones,
Pebbles and rocks.
Water always finds its way.
As you can also.
Imagine your energy,
Your excess energy as water.
That can flow away like water in a stream.
The Earth knows what to do with this energy.
The Earth can absorb this energy.
Let this energy flow.
Relax,
Release your body.
Relax,
Release your body.
There is no need to hold on.
Relax,
Release.
Perhaps you can say to yourself silently,
There is no need to hold on.
This present moment.
As it is,
Is okay.
If it feels okay to do so,
You may wish for several moments to imagine your inner child.
Your past child watching you.
Watching you,
Observing you.
Observing you releasing what you do not need.
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Soften your body.
Soften your body.
Soften your body.
Relax,
Release.
Imagine now that you are walking.
Slowly walking on the shores of a beautiful beach.
You feel calm.
You feel relaxed.
You feel clear-minded.
You look down.
Beside you.
There is a figure.
It is your inner child.
Your inner child also walks.
There is no need for words.
You notice the expression upon the face of this inner child.
You understand the inner child feels at pace.
Your inner child feels at pace.
You have chosen to let go of the memories which no longer serve you,
Do not define you.
You walk in solace,
Slowly.
Slowly along the beach together.
Without the need for words.
You simply walk.
One step at a time.
Both of you feel.
The sensation of a gentle breeze upon your face.
Both of you feel the sensation.
Of the grainy sand beneath your bare fate.
There is a rhythm to your steps.
And there is a feeling.
You both feel this feeling.
It is resilience.
It is resilience.
The ability to get back up.
The ability to take one step.
The ability to know what to remember.
What to reflect upon,
And what to let go.
Our mind is made of patterns.
How we associate narratives,
Memories,
Together in groups.
How we categorise,
How we validate.
Sometimes these patterns no longer serve a purpose.
We can create new patterns of thinking.
Of reflecting.
Of remembering.
No matter what has occurred in the past.
Where you can choose how to be.
In our present.
And we can create our future.
Together your inner child.
And you.
Together,
There are steps taken.
Sometimes the steps may be easy.
Sometimes the steps may seem seamless.
Sometimes there may be hesitance.
But always,
Always resilience.
Resilience.
This image fades now,
This visualisation fades,
Slowly,
Kindly.
And you find yourself lying in a bed,
A white bed,
A soft bed,
So soft.
So soft.
Your mind is calm.
Clear.
Intentional.
Be aware of the moment.
Perhaps your body is still holding on to something.
A particular memory,
A particular experience,
A particular way of seeing the world.
Feel understanding for your body.
And the knowing.
And knowing that you will be okay.
Give your body sacred permission to release.
You can create yourself as a new sense of self in every blessed moment.
Bring this sense of healing.
To your body.
Healing comes,
Healing always comes in the presence of kindness.
Kindness.
Release,
Relax your body.
Release,
Relax your body.
Recognize.
The Association.
The union between your body and mind.
And your mind.
Your body is purposed for survival.
It holds on to memory to help you survive.
There are times this may be misplaced.
You can.
You can heal your body.
It requires practice,
Kindness,
Compassion and love.
A science.
Resilience,
Relax,
Release your body,
You will be okay.
Relax,
Relax,
Release your body.
Bring softness to each part of your physical form.
Invite patience to each part of your body.
Bring some forgiveness to each part of your body.
Invite,
Draw resilience to each part of your body.
In your mind now,
Name different parts of your body.
And focus on these parts.
Sometimes,
Just sometimes,
In order to grow,
We need to give our body.
Permission to let go of the need to protect.
Change comes from having the courage to let go.
Wisdom comes with change.
Give yourself the permission to change.
