Gratitude is linked to greater resilience, and happiness, and is the first step in the spiral of the Work that Reconnects. As spiritual warriors, we need resilience as a shield to support us in our work to liberate all beings from suffering. This is a guided meditation that helps the practitioner imagine their gratitude as a golden glow, energetically expanding to all reaches of the earth, and settling back as a personal shield for moving through life. Hello,

My name is Lauren and today I am going to guide you in a practice of gratitude.

This is inspired by the work that Reconnects and this specific gratitude practice is for cultivating resilience.

If there's anything that can make your time more comfortable,

I invite you now to go and get your blanket or your glass of water,

Pause the recording,

And we will start momentarily.

I invite you now to close your eyes if that feels comfortable and it is safe for you to do so.

Now,

Call in your spirit team who supports you in this practice.

If you work with ancestors or saints,

Angels,

Awakened beings,

Any spirits that have your highest and best intention at heart,

Call them in now to support you in this practice.

Envision them as a circle of support around you.

Take a deep breath in and release it.

Bring your attention to where your body is making contact with the earth.

If that's your seat or your feet,

Bring your attention there and be supported by the earth.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Now,

Call to your mind something that you are grateful for,

Something that you love in this world.

If it feels good to you,

You can place a hand on your heart and feel your heart awakening with gratefulness.

Can you think of three more things that you're grateful for?

Let the list unfold naturally.

Now,

Let go of the thoughts of the things that you're grateful for,

But keep the feeling of gratefulness and plant it like a golden seed in the garden of your heart.

On the next inhale and exhale,

We're going to let that seed grow and expand.

Take a deep breath in and exhale,

Letting that golden glow expand into your upper torso.

Take another deep breath in and on the exhale,

Watch that golden light expand into your belly.

Take a deep breath in and let that gratefulness expand into the hips and up into the shoulders.

On the next breathing cycle,

Feel that gratefulness move down into your legs and out into your arms.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Let that gratefulness move into your feet and your toes and into your hands and your fingers.

On the next inhale and exhale.

On the next breathing cycle,

Feel that gratefulness move into your neck and your head,

Expanding into all of the spaces of your physical body.

You are now bathed in a golden light.

See if you can expand that gratefulness.

Let that golden light pass your physical body now and let it exist as a golden glow just outside of your body.

This is your shield of resilience.

Let's sit here in silence for a moment,

Allowing the feeling of gratitude to permeate our whole being.

Now,

Let's see if we can radiate that golden gratefulness into the room that you're in.

On the inhale,

Feel the feeling of your awakened heart.

And on the exhale,

Watch it expand into the room.

Breathe in and out.

Now,

Let's expand to let it cover your whole town.

Breathing in,

Feeling your gratefulness,

And exhale,

Expanding your gratefulness.

One more time.

Can you let it cover the whole earth?

Breathing in and breathing out,

Sharing that gratefulness with the earth.

Look how expansive you are.

Look at how much your gratefulness can cover.

Breathe here for a while and just witness yourself covering the whole earth in a golden light.

Now,

Slowly,

We are going to come back to the awareness of our bodies.

Let that expansive golden light come back to just hovering right outside of your body,

Your personal bubble of heart energy.

This is your shield of resilience.

It is permeable to more light and more love,

And it protects you from feelings of hopelessness and lights your way in dark times.

Take a deep breath in and release it.

One more time.

Deep breath in and release it.

When you're ready,

You can thank your circle of support and thank yourself for showing up to this practice and slowly open your eyes.
