Hello and welcome.
Today we're going to be going on a journey to access our innate creativity.
Let's start by finding a comfortable position,
Sitting or laying down.
See if you can make yourself just a little more comfortable.
When you're ready,
You can close your eyes and we'll begin.
First,
Let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in together.
And let that go.
And again,
Deep breath in and release the breath.
Remember that at any time you can come back to your breath.
Your breath is always here for you.
And you can bring your awareness to where your body is meeting the earth,
Where the earth is supporting you.
At any time during this practice,
If you feel uncomfortable or lost,
Just come back to the breath.
Now imagine that you are walking in the woods,
In a forest of your own creation.
This place may be familiar to you,
You may think,
I've been here before.
Or it may be completely new.
Whatever path you find yourself walking on,
Know that it is safe and that it is entirely yours.
As you walk down this path,
Begin to bring your awareness to any wildlife that may be showing up.
You may know the names of some of the plants or animals.
What is the season in the forest today?
Are there crunchy leaves underfoot?
Is it a mossy path?
What does your woods smell like?
Take a deep breath in.
Imagine the scent.
As you open your awareness,
You start to hear the sounds of the forest.
And you notice one of these notes is the sound of water.
Begin to walk towards the water,
Towards where you're the sound coming from.
And soon you find yourself on the banks of a body of water.
How clear is the water today?
What is it reflecting?
Is your water still or is it moving?
Is this body of water large,
Vast,
Deep?
Or is it shallow,
A trickle?
Whatever your water looks like today,
Just notice and sit down in your imagination on the banks of this body of water.
As you sit down,
You feel the earth rising up to meet and support you.
While you're here,
You give thanks to this body of water that's shown up today in your imagination.
And you tune in to listening.
You hear the water and your immediate surroundings.
And you begin to align your breathing with the flow of the water.
As you sit there on the banks,
A question arises.
And that is,
What am I grateful for?
You ask yourself this question and allow the list to unfold before you.
Giving thanks to the water,
Release this question into its flow.
As you sit in silence,
Another question arises.
What is inspiring me?
Like before you allow the list to unfold before you.
Maybe words,
Images,
Colors,
Feelings,
Or sensations.
What is inspiring me?
Feel the excitement of potential.
And with gratefulness,
Allow that question to be moved along by the flow of the water.
And again,
As you find yourself sitting in silence,
The question arises.
And this is an intuitive sensing.
Is there anything that's blocking me from my inspiration?
This time you tune in to the body of water.
Do you imagine any blockages that are impeding the flow of the water?
Maybe it's on the surface.
Some debris.
Maybe it's deep under the surface.
Large stones or boulders.
But like water,
No you always find a way through or around gently and in time.
Imagine yourself moving away,
Rolling away,
Dissolving any obstacle that is inhibiting the flow of this water.
Using any means that you deem appropriate.
This is your woods,
Your water.
Imagine any blockages to the flow.
Dissipating.
Dissolving.
Moving along downstream with your loving and gentle.
Encourage those blockages to be released.
And let the water flow in the way that it was intended.
Gently nourishing all that surrounds it.
Now this water is flowing more freely.
And the confluence of your mind,
Addressing the two questions,
What inspires me?
And what are some of the blockages inhibiting my inspiration?
Allow an intention to float to the surface of your mind.
An intention that you'll carry for today.
And imagine that intention on the surface of your water,
Like a leaf,
Drifting towards you.
When your intention reaches the banks of your body of water,
Reach in and pick it up.
Holding it in your two hands.
Bring your intention up to your heart.
Examining it.
And then allowing it to become part of you.
Having brought your intention into your heart,
It takes about a minute for your heart to pump the blood and circulate it all around your body.
So we'll spend the next minute or so in silence.
And as we do so,
Imagine your intention circulating throughout your whole body and becoming who you are today.
Now,
Take a deep breath in.
And exhale.
And placing your palms together.
Offer a deep bow of gratitude to your body of water,
To your forest,
And to your subconscious mind.
For allowing itself to be seen in your deep waters today.
And in your imagination,
When you feel ready to come back to your body.
You'll find yourself stirring on the forest floor.
Walking down the path.
Walking your awareness back home to your physical body.
Bring your attention to where your body is meeting the earth.
And before we end,
We'll take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in together.
And release.
One more time,
Deep breath in.
And let that go.
When you're ready,
You can slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for showing up to this practice.
For examining what lies beneath.
And for connecting to your inspiration and creativity.
May you take that into your day and create something beautiful.
