Moment of meditation.
So we're going to take a few moments just to settle,
Just to connect to our breath.
You can do this as you go about your day or you can take the next five minutes just to sit and to relax and connect.
So whichever way you're choosing to do this,
I invite you to start to bring some awareness to your breath.
Just feeling the breath coming in,
Feeling the breath going out and if it feels okay you might start to deepen and lengthen the inhales and the exhales.
Maybe seeing if you can make that exhale just a few moments longer than the inhale.
This helps to encourage relaxation within the body and the mind.
So just allowing the breath to bring us to the present moment,
Allowing us a few moments of peace,
A few moments of serenity.
Today I am going to read one of my favourite readings by Marianne Williamson.
So as always just let the words wash over you or through you.
Take what you need and leave the rest.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light,
Not our darkness,
That most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
Who am I to be brilliant,
Gorgeous,
Talented and fabulous?
Actually who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
Because we're all meant to shine just as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
And it's not just in some of us,
It's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We subconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
So just taking a little moment just to contemplate the words.
Light not your darkness that scares you the most.
You've been shrinking yourself.
Then maybe today you don't need to.
Maybe as you go into the rest of the day that you're a child of God or source or universe or higher power,
Whatever language resonates for you.
And remember that as you liberate yourself from your own fears,
You'll give other people permission to do the same too.
Let's take a really deep inhale together.
A big sigh out.
