This guided meditation is using the 6th Limb of Yoga - Dharana/ Concentration - as a way to support us in our meditation practice and help us go deeper. At this stage, we are withdrawing the 5 senses and any attachment to the external world by choosing to focus on one thing. This could be your breath, an intention, a person, or whatever you choose. This practice alone is beneficial for many reasons. You might struggle doing one thing at a time, finishing projects, feel overwhelmed often, or maybe you just want to regulate your nervous system. This is also an essential step in the progression towards a more advanced state of meditation - the 7th Limb of Yoga - or passive meditation where all 5 senses are reduced to nothing and you are enjoying stillness and silence.
