Move it.

Take a break to let your energy move.

Start by tuning in to your body's sensations just as they are.

Scan your body from head to toe,

Noticing first your mood,

Any tightness in your muscles,

Or buzzing in your nerves.

Just pay attention to the sensations for a moment,

Without trying to change them in any way.

Now stand and stretch for a few breaths.

Reach your arms up high and breathe deeply,

Then bend your knees and curl gently down,

Dangling your head and hands toward the ground.

Now keeping your knees bent,

Slowly curl back up into a standing position.

You can do this a couple of times,

Breathing deeply,

Saluting the sky and the earth.

Now put your feet in motion.

Start walking anywhere,

In your room,

Down the hall,

Or outside.

Strut,

Stomp,

Saunter,

Stride,

Or glide.

As you walk,

You can shake your hands with loose wrists,

Or sweep your arms as though you're clearing the space around you.

Make breathy sounds as you exhale,

Blowing out like a whale,

With a whoosh or a whoo.

Play with it.

It's very cleansing and energizing.

While you're walking,

Let yourself feel any irritation,

Discouragement,

Anxiety,

Aggression,

Whatever there is.

Let it all come up.

Come to awareness.

Come to be felt everywhere in your body as you walk.

Let the emotion come into your stride.

You might not look any different to an observer,

But inside you're agitated,

Excited,

Sad,

Or afraid.

You may be quivering with fury,

Or pacing like a caged animal.

You may be powerful,

Dangerous,

Stalking in the wild like a tiger.

Express your energy.

Have an attitude.

Breathe out with a hiss,

Sigh,

Growl,

Yelp,

Or whimper.

As you breathe and move expressively,

You're freeing yourself up from the grip of constricting feelings.

Give yourself space.

Imagine freedom,

Releasing yourself from all the demands upon you right now.

Loosen yourself up from how you've had to hold yourself together,

Or any way you've stopped moving.

Let your energy flow with abandon.

As you move and breathe this way,

You're oxygenating all your cells,

Your organs,

Your skin.

Life force is pulsing through you everywhere.

Now just breathe and walk however you want.

Turn your attention to what is around you.

See something you may never have noticed before.

The bark of a tree,

The shape of a door,

The expression in someone's eyes.

Hear the chatter of voices,

Animals,

Insects,

Birds,

Machines.

Pick up any scent on the wind.

Now become aware of the situation you're walking toward,

Your next activity.

What are you walking into?

What kind of attention will be required?

What aspect of you is going to be called forth?

What do you want to consciously embody?

Breathe with the quality of awareness you want to establish.

Confidence,

Precision,

Patience,

Enthusiasm,

Courage,

Caring,

Support,

Trust.

Allow that tone to come into your motion now.

Feel it flowing through your whole body,

Down through your arms,

Down through your legs,

Up through the top of your head,

Everywhere,

And imagine radiating it to others as well.

Walk in the world with that sense of yourself,

Full of vitality,

Clarity,

And strength.

Walk into your life with an open heart and mind.

See with fresh eyes,

Hear with new ears.

Speak with a newfound voice.
