Unfurl is part of the album Bálsamo. A gentle undoing — where the heart opens, masks fall away, and sweetness is remembered through play, longing, and touch. This piece moves through seeking and forgetting, through fullness and emptiness, until nothing is left to perform and presence rests naked and unafraid. Let the sound soften your edges. Come as you are. Rest where boundaries dissolve. Rosemary Merán: Lyrics and vocals James Boag: Vocals Juan Dahik: Music

Transcript

I'm going to unfurl my heart.

I'm going to dress up with my best garment for you and me to play at undressing each other.

I'm going to run,

Walk,

Crawl,

To pretend at arriving,

Arriving where you are.

I'm going to eat honey,

Drink the dew of sugar cane,

Taste the nectar of flowers to remember sweetness and embrace.

I'm going to take,

I'll take everything I can and in so many different ways to pretend fullness and then realize my emptiness.

I'm going to open,

I'm going to step on the stage and join others in their play where I dream myself lost again and again.

And I'm going to see myself dying and trying and forgetting the seamless,

The eternal.

I'm going to become darkness and swim in a cerulean breath to absolve my light to touch you and dwell upon your lips.

Bells resounding in the distance,

Welcoming the arrival of the beast and the holy man.

Come in,

Take off your mask,

Leave your robe in the entrance.

Don't be anyone tonight.

Come,

Come rest here upon my chest.

We can disguise ourselves again tomorrow.

For now,

Let's remain naked.

Naked,

Erasing the boundaries between us.
