Welcome to this Yoganidra practice brought to you by Soul Matters Ireland as we welcome the new moon in Pisces,
The last sign of the Zodiac,
The grandmother of the Zodiac,
The most intuitive sign and connected with the third eye,
The pineal gland,
Also known as the sacred gland,
Connected to the spiritual realm.
I invite you to settle down into your nidra nest,
Your space where you practice deep rest and ensure you have all the props you need to be in optimum comfort for your practice.
So lying down on your mat,
Your bed,
Whatever surface feels right for you today and preferably in the pose of savasana,
The corpse pose,
Your hand resting by your side,
Facing upwards in the receptive pose of the divine or turning inwards towards your body if that is more comfortable for you.
You may even prefer to place your hands somewhere on your body,
Your belly,
Your heart,
Whatever feels right for you today.
You may like to place a pillow beneath your head or under your knees.
Remember this is your practice,
So whatever is most comfortable for you is what is of utmost importance.
Once you've found yourself the most comfortable position,
Let your body sink into the surface as you connect with the earth beneath you,
Grounding into the embrace of mama gaya.
You may like to also place a mask or a scarf or something over your eyes.
This will ensure that you go into a deep state of rest as you block out the outside world and connect with your inner landscape,
Your divine essence,
Your soul being.
Placing a blanket over your body so you stay warm and cozy and then snuggling down and cocooning in your nest as you take a few long deep breaths,
Breathing all the way down into your belly and then breathing out with a long sigh through your mouth.
Taking another breath like that as your belly rises,
Receiving the fresh energy of lightness into your being,
Breathing out as your belly falls and you let go of anything no longer serving you.
So a few more breaths like this,
Belly rising,
Belly falling,
Belly expanding,
Expanding,
Belly contracting,
Grounding into the embrace of mother earth.
Grounding into the earth beneath you with each breath you release,
Sinking deeper,
Sinking further,
Succumbing to the gravitational pull of the divine mother.
Imagining her arms holding you in her tender embrace for your practice today.
As you bring your breath back to its natural rhythm.
It's being with your breath as it is.
Then take a long deep breath in through your nose and let it move up into your third eye,
The center of your forehead and ask your third eye to activate.
This is the Chittakash,
The center of pure consciousness.
As you breathe into your third eye,
It opens fully.
And as you breathe out,
It releases anything that is blocking you from being fully present to your divine essence.
As you awake to your soul's potential.
Any cobwebs that have gathered through lack of consciousness and connection are now being dissolved as you enhance your ultimate full spectrum vision.
To remember who you are at a deep soul level,
Connecting with your divine purpose.
Keeping this image in your mind's eye for the duration of your practice as we now begin the practice of Yoga Nidra.
I have faith that a well-rested woman is an unstoppable cosmic force,
Writes Octavia F.
Rahim in her book,
Rest is Sacred.
I invite you now to connect with your unstoppable cosmic force as you set your sankalpa for your practice today.
This is your truth vow,
The seed you plant in your soul to connect with your divinity.
Your I am statement said in the present tense.
You will know when your sankalpa has arrived as it will land deep within your soul and awaken you to your true essence as you repeat it three times now.
Then release your sankalpa and trust the divine to mind it until the end of your practice.
As we move through a rotation of consciousness body scan.
Starting at your brow center,
The Chidakash,
As you imagine a star pulsating with the frequency and weaving a golden thread down to the center of your throat.
To your right shoulder joint,
Your right elbow joint,
Your right wrist joint,
The tip of your right thumb,
The tip of your right index finger,
The tip of your middle finger,
The tip of your ring finger,
The tip of your right little finger.
Then the golden thread weaves up to the center of your right wrist,
The center of your right elbow,
The center of your right shoulder,
The center of your throat,
Your left shoulder joint,
Your left elbow joint,
Your left wrist joint,
The tip of your left thumb,
The tip of your left index finger,
The tip of your left middle finger,
The tip of your left ring finger,
The tip of your left little finger.
The golden thread weaves up to the center of your left wrist,
The center of your left elbow,
The center of your left shoulder,
The center of your throat,
Weaving down to the center of your chest and over to your right nipple,
Then back to the center of your chest,
Then over to your left nipple and back to your heart center.
The golden thread weaves down to your solar plexus,
Your sacral chakra,
Your right hip joint,
Your right knee joint,
Your right ankle joint,
Your right big toe,
The tip of your second toe,
The tip of your third toe,
The tip of your fourth toe,
The tip of your fifth toe.
The golden thread weaves back up to the center of your right ankle,
The center of your right knee,
The center of your right hip,
To your sacral chakra,
And over to your left hip joint,
Your left knee joint,
Your left ankle joint,
Your left big toe,
The tip of your second toe,
The tip of your third toe,
The tip of your fourth toe,
The tip of your fifth toe.
The golden thread weaves back up to the center of your left ankle,
The center of your left knee,
The center of your left hip.
The golden thread travels back up to your sacral chakra,
To your solar plexus,
To your heart chakra,
To the center of your throat,
And back to your brow center.
The golden thread weaving a web of connection to your whole body.
From your chidakash and the star igniting your soul essence,
Your whole body,
Lit up to your divine soul potential,
As we dance with pairs of opposites.
Opposites provide depth and contrast,
So we can experience both and simultaneously.
I invite you to bring your awareness to a time where everything was flowing in your life.
Everything was happening exactly how you want it.
The ease of flow.
How does that show up in your body?
How does it feel?
As you bring your breath into it,
And allow it exactly as it is.
Then release the flow,
And bring a time where everything seemed to be forced in your life.
Everything was an effort,
The push of forcing,
Nothing happening as you wanted.
How does that show up in your body?
How does it feel?
Breathe into it,
Allow it exactly as it is.
Then release the force,
And bring into your awareness a time of waiting.
A time where you are waiting,
Without any narrative attached to it,
Just to the time.
The sense of waiting.
How does it feel to wait?
Where do you sense the waiting?
Breathing into it,
Being with it.
Then release the waiting,
And bring the sense of growing into your body.
The feeling of growing.
How does it feel to grow?
Without the narrative,
Just the feeling.
Breathing into it,
Being with it.
Then release the growing,
As you bring them all together.
The flowing,
The forcing,
The waiting,
The growing.
Breathing into all,
Allowing them all,
The web of connection with each of the opposites.
Weaving the opposites throughout your whole being.
The divine connection of opposites in your sacred body.
The cosmic consciousness of the opposites of life.
The mystery of it all,
Weaving together,
To create the wonder of you,
The magic of you,
A divine being of the universe.
Then breathe back into the centre of your forehead,
The Chidakash,
Your portal of infinite potential.
Your neutral mind,
The state of consciousness,
Where you get to connect with your inner mystic.
As you journey in your mind to the edge of a forest,
Where you stand at the threshold,
Before you enter and take the step into the unknown.
As the energy changes,
A deep sense of belonging wraps around you,
From the roots of the trees,
Where you become one with the forest.
The trees remember you,
The earth remembers you,
As your mother and the sky remembers you as your father,
Your place in the family of nature.
As you walk,
You sense the hands of the earth guiding you,
The air of the great father whispering to you,
And the sound of water enticing you to keep moving,
As the branches of the trees caress your skin as you wander by,
The trunks grinning in delight as you pass by,
Comforted by your presence.
You are guided to the stream of water,
Cocooned by willow trees,
Cascading down onto the water,
As they weep their wisdom into the stream.
You are joined by your sisters,
Past,
Present and future.
As you bathe in the stream,
Feeling the flow of water over your feet,
The rocky terrain below moulds to support your feet,
As the willow branches gently tickle your skin,
The dark sky above covered in stars and a luminescent moon is just visible as a silver sliver before it disappears into the darkness.
You cross the stream and emerge onto a field of wild grass,
Where fireflies light the way to guide you as you wander through the fields,
The blades of wild grass brush against your moist skin.
As the hands of the Great Mother guide you along the whispers of Father Sky.
Where you arrive at the house of the Grandmothers.
As you enter with your sisters,
You take your seat at the table of Grandmothers,
Your place in the Queendom of the Mystical Grandmothers of a time gone by.
The weave of great women,
Past,
Present and future,
As you remember your inner magic,
Your inner mystic,
And drift off and dissolve into another realm,
As you connect with the Divine.
As my voice dissolves to leave you in the stillness,
Where the whispers of wisdom soak into the skin of your Divine Being.
As my voice drifts back into your awareness,
You take your leave from the Grandmothers and travel back through the wild grass,
Over the stream,
Back through the forest,
As you land back in your Nidra Nest,
As your Sankalpa emerges for you to repeat three more times.
Then release your Sankalpa to the Divine,
So that it can work its magic until the next time you practice Yoga Nidra.
And this is where the practice of Yoga Nidra ends.
As you bring some gentle movement to your body,
Be very gentle with your tender being,
Stretching your body in whatever way feels right,
Moving your head from side to side,
Wriggling your toes,
Whatever feels right for you.
Just awakening slowly and coming back into your space.
Thank you so much for practicing this Yoga Nidra.
As you remember your star essence,
The magic of your soul potential and the mystic within,
The Divine Being you are.
And as Kim Kran says,
From the wild unknown archetypes,
The mystic,
It may seem that the mystic is inward facing,
Yet its light beams back to the world with the strength of a thousand stars.
Haryam Tatsat,
Namaste.
