Tom Teasley

Hailed by The Washington Post as "a multi-instrumental genius," Tom Teasley is an award-winning percussionist, composer, and global music ambassador. A former artist-in-residence at the Kennedy Center, he has collaborated with the National Symphony as a soloist and composer, earning international recognition for his innovative artistry. A six-time Fulbright-Hayes grant recipient, he has performed and collaborated with Indigenous musicians across the Middle East and beyond at the invitation of U.S. embassies. His global reach includes performances in Europe, South America, Korea, Samoa, and New Zealand, where he blends diverse traditions with groundbreaking techniques. An acclaimed educator and clinician, Teasley represents premier brands such as Yamaha, Vic Firth, Sabian, Black Swamp, and Remo. His book/DVD, An American Approach to World Percussion (Alfred Publishing), is a cornerstone of modern percussion instruction. His accolades include the Drum! Magazine Drummie Award for "World Percussionist of the Year," three Helen Hayes Awards for sound design, and multiple WAMA World Music Instrumentalist of the Year honors.
